How the tcs works is when active light on dash will be on you will only feel it working tcs uses wheel speed sensors that when your tire slips and spins faster than other wheel like spinnig out on on ice snow gravel the tcs unit will use a controlled misfire that will **** or jolt giving traction and will stay engaged until spinnig stops or you let off gas basicaly it uses the engine to **** not allowing wheels to spin out to get a feel turn on tcs find a gravel or snowy road accelerate trying to make the car slip you will feel car start to **** it works well try it so you get a feel incase you trigger tcs and catches you off guard
hope this helped

Light should be off on the dash. If it's on, there is a problem with the traction system.

on the rotors you probably noticed two lines one for the brakes and the other is your traction control magnet which picks up a signal to tell the computer to control the braking system when the wheel locks up in hard braking, you either damaged the magnet or it picked up some metal shaving while replacing the brake pads

The traction control system is controlled through the Anti-lock brake system. The way it works is if one of your wheels starts spinning the ABS applys the brake to that wheel to transfer power to the oppsite wheel that is getting traction. If your ABS is bad then your Traction control won't work. To check it I would find a parking lot on a wet day. In an open space mash in the gas. if you hear the ABS system kick in and you don't squall the tires then your good. My guess is you won't. What I would be worried about is will my ABS work. When checking the traction control is a good time to check the ABS. Acclerate to around 15 mph, then mash the brake as your live depended on it. If you hear a motor run and feel a vibration or grind in the brake peddal, then it works.

the major difference in the tire size is enough to cause the traction control to activate the car sees a speed difference between the front and rear tires and thinks it is slipping it will continue until you replace the other two tires

This will have to be serviced by qualified technician. Either the control circuit or pump is bad in the unit.
SOURCE: abs and traction control light is on dashboard
When your ABS light comes on it means you have no ABS only normal braking. Also a traction light will come on at the same time becaust it is directly linked to the ABS to change torque before a wheel slips. You need to have it hooked up to a professional scanner, because there are many different possibilities of what is wrong with the ABS/TCS system. hope this helps!!!
