My 2006 3.6 liter V6 RWD STS AUTO TRANS (with Performance Package) has approx 60K miles. At about 50K miles, It started "lugging" about 3-5 seconds into a slight grade with cruise on or steady gas pedal. A slight manual acceleration will bring it back to smoothe running. The cruise control will allow the engine to continue to lug. If I do not give it more gas, the lugging will soon turn into engine shaking enough that it will cause the car to shake. I heard somewhere that, in order to gain better fuel economy, the factory specs on fuel mixture were too low. Is this condition normal and acceptable? Is it a serious problem that will do damage? Right now, there doesn't seem to be any damage. Is there a simple remedy for this condition? Has Cadillac issued a technical service bulletin on this problem? I will greatly appreciate some insight into this situation.

SOURCE: rounded-off lug nuts

The auto parts stores cary a special kit for removing these wear eye protection and if you have air tools it will make it much easier. don't use sockets not rated for air tools (they break and will hurt you)

SOURCE: Why is my 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer lugging?

Could be vacuum leak or bad ignition wire(s).

I had a similar problem on my "93 Ford probe. The engine idled pretty rough with shakes, Turned out to be a head gasket leaking engine coolant into the cylinder during low rpm's. At fast rpm's it was fine becuase the internal cylinder pressure was greater than the hot coolant pressure & would prevent the coolant from leaking in.

A friend has the same problem with his "94 Blazer 4.3 L, throttle body injection, manual tranny. He hasn't fixed it yet, It started a few weeks ago & is getting worse. His gets a fast idle with hiccups which causes the engine shake. He already checked the EGR valve. He also has a severe exhaust problem, Not oilly but very gray & terrible smelly, but only when the fast idle problem happens. THis fast idle hiccup problem starts when the engine is warmed up.

SOURCE: lug pattern for 1999 Chevy Malibu

the lug pattern should be 5x100mm, you having the loaded malibu it could be the 5x125mm. if you still have the factory aluminum wheels on there then you can either take one off and look on the back of the wheel you will have to look closely it will tell you though, or you can go to www. tirerack.com there website will navigate you through and give you the proper size. hope this helps. sorry not more specific.

Truck works fine in R, 1, and 2 nothing in 3 or D. 2006 Silverado V-6 automatic 1/2 ton

Hey Anon, Yes, drive it to the tranny shop..plan to leave it... sounds like you are in for a rebuild.. this is typical for GM RWD transmissions.. I have seen TOO many do this same thing,, (I have had TWO in for this... vehicles I inherited that were not maintained)..GM transmissions on RWD's must have the fluid and filter changed every 50K - 75K and a complete fluid exchange and filter replacement every 120K -150K MINIMUM for them to last..usually cost around $1200 - $1400.. sorry.. Good luck!

When driving my truck the engine dies, i would lilk to know why the engine dies while doing this

did you ever tune it up?
in the last 60k miles do all steps in the op guide for 60k miles.
if not, bingo. I have same car, what engine. I4 or V6.
i have full access to docs and the knowledge.
the short list of 50 reasons (i do the tests to find which fast)
1: not tuned up, ever. (classic)
2: EGR sticks open, clean it or replace it, its 50k service point. all cars.
3:ISC stuck closed (in fact all air valves, sticking for idle controls)
4: misfiring for huge list of reason... (have list but is useless. we do that tests)
5:flooding, (more tests)
6: weak or bad spark to 1 or more cylinders. more tests.

do you wish to guess, or tests.
if i were to guess, id say, no tuneup done with spark and air and fuel filters.

Lifters/car not starting

Do you have the 2.2 liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine, the 3.5 liter V6, or the 3.9 liter V6 engine? If you have the 2.2 liter engine, there may be a camshaft/timing chain issue if you skipped a tooth when you put the chain back on the cams. If it's a 3.5 or a 3.9 liter V6, you may have incorrectly installed the push rods back into the engine. 3.5 liter intake push rods are approx 5 3/4" long, while the exhaust push rods are approx 6" long.
The 3.9 liter intake push rods are approx 5.81" long, while the exhaust push rods are approx 6.1" long. If you mix the two lengths up when you put them back in the engine, you're going to have problems.

You need to do the trans fluid and power steering every 30,000 miles on all vehicles. Forget what they say
I used to own a trans shop.
Flush Brake fluid every two years
Coolant every three
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles
Fuel Filter 30,000 miles.

I would stay far away from the dealer
Go to a local shop

Have 03 silverado V6 1500 50k miles no shift 2-3

Unless there's other circumstances the shop should have checked the codes first. From there they should have followed a basic diagnostic route such as making sure it has fluid pressure in all valve shift circuits and the correct pressure. But, it's most likely that you need a trans and a long test drive after doing the valves would have gave them a clear direction to go in if the problem is not interrmitant,

Mileage for transmission Servcie for 2006 Dodge Sprinter

160,000 KM (100,000 miles) intervals under normal driving conditions. 80,000 KM (50,000 miles) under severe condition. The differential also has the save service time as the transmission. Good luck and hope this helps.

What are the service interval for items on the 2006 toyota prado

For oil and filter - every 3 -5,000 miles. rotate tires at same interval. air filter is on condition, so check it at oil change and clean it until it needs replacement. trans. fluid is on condition along with filter or I believe 60k miles. Belts and hoses are every 3 years or based on condition. Get a maintenance guide from an auto parts store or go to the dealer for an owner's manual, which will have all of this information.
