Check for 12 volt at the blower motor, if it's there, once you turn your blower and ignition on and motor doesn't work, you have a bad motor. If it's not there, check your fuses, blower switch and blower resistor pack.
It's not the resistor. That just lowers the voltage going to the motor. Once you have turned the ignition off. There shouldn't be voltage getting to the resistor.
1
Check for the "Remote Battery Low" signal message that is displayed on the vehicle's dash once the remote key battery starts to run down. Be sure to replace the battery is before it dies completely. If the battery is dead, it will not be able to start the Range Rover.
2
Buy the correct battery for replacement. Two round CR 2025 batteries are needed. You can purchase them at most major supercenters, camera stores or **** stores. They are a common size and should be readily available.
3
Use a nickel to remove the battery holder on the key remote. Turn the cover until the arrows line up and remove it. The cover fits very tightly and you may need a small screwdriver to pry it off. Remove the battery holder and circular ring from the remote. Take the old batteries out of the battery holder.
4
Place the new batteries in the battery holder. Replace the battery holder and circular ring in the key remote, aligning the arrows. Turn the cover clockwise until it is secure.
5 Resynchronize the key by simply placing the key in the door lock. Lock and unlock the door to the Range Rover and then press the remote control.
Have you checked your blower motor resistor and the common reason that the motor or resistor fails is due to a clogged cabin air filter. Hope this helps !
You first should find out if this is correct behaviour, because most cars after 1982 have an electronic fan which is actuated according to the temp guage in your cooling system, so even if your ignition is off, your fan still works to cool the motor (although they are mostly japanese cars that do this).
most likely you have a very bad ignition switch, the only other pathway for switched acc. to operate when key is off is if someone has had the wires feeding the fuse box crossed. so unless you had recent wiring done by an amature, you need and ignition switch. after replaceing you may still need to replace some fuses or bulbs that didn't like being powered at the wrong time.
Run's continuously ? High speed , low , med 1,2, 3 . ????
Probably the high speed relay contact's stuck closed . The fuse for the high blower is hot at all times , low blower fuse is hot only with key on. It sparks becaused the motor turns on . If it had a short the fuse would blow . The blower motor relay is part of the resistor pack near the blower motor .
