There is a small plastic cover on the front bumper cover, pry it out then install the tow screw thats located under the tool cover on the back of the trunk lid.

For the BMW 7 series (E38) 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 model year. Fuse box in engine compartment. fuse box location. Open the hood.
see if there is an inline fuse on the power wire to the radio. It appears to be a known issue. Check out the link
REMOVE THE FRONT KIDNEY EMBLEM, GET A DENTAL HOOK FROM HARBOR FREIGHT, AND TUG ON THE OPEN SPOT WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE ACTUAL CABLE, THIS WILL ACTIVATE THE LATCH TO OPEN. GO TO THE JUNKYARD TO PRACTICE ON AN ALREADY OPEN ONE SO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS.
I have the same situation w/ my 2000 740il . On the top of the reservoir their is a bleading screw. Its black plastic with a ( + ) shaped inset. That is the bleading spot. You may have a different resiviour(different year????) Im not sure? It is a very sesitive moter and this is a common problem with them. Dont drive untill its fixed. If you hit the red you will crack a head or two! If its in good shape have it towed to a repair shop.(they have a special tool to bleed them) They tend to trap air even when blead normaly. Its all a big scam , what car has a 150$ thermostat? They got you by the balls, the only safe way is to bring it to a dealership or someone who is specialized on BMW. So if your car is worth anything, have it done right and sadly most mechanics cant.(they dont have t Let alone you or me.
You shouldn't have to reset immobilizer. And your car CAN be towed, if done correctly. It can be towed from the rear. The preferable way is aboard a flat bed.
Depends how competent you are here and what sort of tools you have.You will also need to replace oil filter if you wish to replace oil within the engine.The oil has to be drained from underneath the engine and allow it to sit for few hours while draining as this will ensure all the deposits at the bottom comes off.
Changing oil in the BMW 740iL is no different than other cars. If you are not comfortable with this find a trusted German Automotive mechanic to do it for you.
You will need a large socket to remove the oil filter housing cover. The BMW tool is expensive. You can use large channel lock pliers with a smooth jaw or place a small strip of cardboard (like cereal box) over the teeth on regular pliers so you don't damage the cover.
