Generally, 3,000 mi. between oil and filter changes is indicated for most cars and light trucks.

I have a dodge caravan 2005 with 127000 miles and i want to use synthetic oil is this good for the car or not and what kind of oil filter i need for this , or what kind of oil do you recomend for this

synthetic oil is a great product use it if you can afford it and the oil filter that your owners manual recommends is just fine. also the weight that your manual says to use is what you need to get as well. example synthetic 10w40 i like castrol

I HAVE A 2005 DODGE 1500 4.7 TRUCK WITH 30.000 MILES WHEN SHOULD I CHANGE TRANMISSION FLUD AND REAR END OIL.

You might start by looking at the owner's manual. If you do not have it, download it here: http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/dodge/dodge-ram-owners-manuals/. You have a 9 yr old vehicle with low mileage. Generally the rule is that if it has been through very heavy duty for its 30,000 miles, change oils ahead of the recommendation (maybe 25-33% ahead of the recommendation). Severity of operating environment and vehicle use should be the key, not so much age.

Hello, just wanted to know when do my 2004 dodge stratus need a tune up, it has 71500 miles on it now. Also what other maintenance should I look to get for a car to keep it running and healthly, no...

Well, you didn't mention which engine your Sratus is equipped with, so I can't give you any specifics on your engine.
The best thing you can do is change the oil, and when you are done changing the oil, change it again. When you are done changing it again, start over. :) I cannot count all of the engines that I have seen go to an early grave because the oil was not changed regularly. I have customers that regularly go 1000, 2000, or more miles over on their oil changes, then cry the blues when the engine blows up.

If your engine is equipped with a 2.4L engine, you need to make sure the timing belt and related components are replaced when they should be. The service interval is 90,000 miles.
Don't skimp and replace just the belt. Spend the extra money and do it right! The pullies and the water pump that the belt rides on also have the same mileage as the belt and will fail and cause the belt to fail before it would be due again. I have seen several people pay their hard-earned cash to replace the belt only, just to have the tensioner pulley or the water pump fail 10,000 miles later and destroy the new belt and cause severe engine damage.

If you have the 2.7 engine, this is not an issue because it is a chain-driven engine.

For more information on the maintenance of your vehicle, it would be best to read your Owner's Manual.

What is the recommended maintenance for 50,000 miles on the Dodge Grand Caravan SXT?

according to the owners manual there is no 50,000 mile service, it is due at 51,000, the recommended service by Chrysler is as follows:
1.CHANGE OIL AND FILTER
2.ROTATE TIRES
3.INSPECT ENGINE AIR FILTER AND REPLACE AS NEEDED

Dealers have there own services that they recommend at mileage intervals that may vary from factory recommendations, beware of those large expensive packages they try to sell u.

Trasmission oil change

The transmission fluid should be flushed out every 60,000miles. In your owners manual there will be a service interval section that will tell you how often the fluid should be changed.

I want to know what the basic maintance on a 2000 dodge caravan

It depends on the mileage. You should change hoses, belt(s) and coolant at least every 3 years. Change trans fluid and clean filter every 30,000 miles. Change oil every 3,000 miles. Check the air filter regularly. EGR valve is a 60,000 mile replacement I believe.

If you don't have an owner's manual and like to DIY, get a Chilton or Haynes repair guide. Check the brakes at every rotation - I use 5,000 miles as my guide.
