When it doesn't start hold the key on to start and slowly move the gear selector around if the car all of a sudden cranks you know you have a problem in the inhibitor switch on the auto and you may need to reset it our replace it.
is there a lot of movement in the gear selector may be that is worn out and giving the wrong signal to the starter circuit
Check your starter motor wiring first there should be a wire of aroung 5mm thickness bolted to the starter solenoid that is your power from battery the other is one small wire which clips on, this one tells it to"go" when you turn the key if either is loose it will work sumtimes, also check your battery connections are secure and motor to car earth(s) are secure

i have changed battery,computer,coil,relays,ignition lock assy,start switch,it will start about 10 times then is wont start no crank nothing
