Assueming it has the v-6 in it look at the exhaust pipe comming off the side of the engine there will be two up stream 02 sensors which are heated and one downstream past catalitic conveter. If may have the second style with the Y cross over with 1 upstream before the cat and one after. The difference between the 0-2 sensors is the upstrean are heated so it goes into closed loop faster. I find that on most of these the up stream 02 sensor heaters have failed. You can go to a Autozone and they can pull the codes for you and tell you which side it is that needs to be replaced. However 02 sensors get old after time and they start shifting slowly, if it shifts slowly then it's called a lazy 02 sensor. And will send a code to the computer, if you get the trouble code of the 02 sensor heater is bad you will have to change it, I recommend Replacing both. The reason is if one is going bad the other will soon follow. You can buy a socket wrench For the 02 sensors for 12 dollars makes it real easy to replace the 02 sensors when they are COLD. Hope this helps and thanks for using fix-ya.

2003 honda civic o2 how to replace And how do i fin out which once is it

Hi Jesus, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

If you have a 4 cylinder engine then you will only have two 02 sensors 1/1 is upstream and 1/2 is downstream. Upstream is the one closet to the engine and downstream is the one farther away from the engine.

If you have a six OR eight cylinder engine you will have four 02 Sensors. 1/1 means Bank One Sensor One. 1/1 and Bank one means right bank and right bank means the side with the number 1 spark plug. SO, 1/1 means, "Right Bank" Upstream 02 sensor. 1/2 means, "Right Bank" Downstream 02 sensor.

2/1 means, "Left Bank" Upstream 02 sensor and 2/2 means, "Left Bank" Downstream 02 sensor. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website at: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

Where are the front 02 sencers located

There are 4 oxygen sensors on the Windstars They are divided into 2 banks of 2.
- Bank 1 is the for the rear 3 cylinders of the engine
- Bank 2 is for the front 3 cylinders.

Bank 1 / Sensor 1 (upstream) is located just below, in the pipe, the exhaust manifold on the back of the engine.

REMOVE TIP: you may have to bend part of the transmission heat shield out of the way - be sure to put it back when done.

Bank 1 Sensor 2 (downstream) is located just past the drivers side catalytic converter. Bank 2 Sensor 1 (upstream) is located just below the exhaust manifold, in the pipe, at the front of the van - access is from the top. Bank 2 Sensor 2 (downstream) sensor is located just past the passenger side catalytic converter.

NOTES: * Use lots of penetrating oil - allow to soak - to make removal easier and avoid damaging the exhaust pipe

* The sensors are screwed directly into the pipe at a 90 degree angle and look like spark plugs with either 8", 12", or 14" wires attached to them

How do i buy online the oxygen sensors for a 2001?

The oxygen sensor are just refered to as upstream for the o2s and down stream are actually refered to as catalytic monitors. So if you have lean or rich codes these would refer to the upstream .

Code po430 not sure what maybe converter

One of three (3) possibitlies:
1. Catalytic Converter is malfunctioning.
2. O2 Sensor is malfunctioning. This will be the O2 Sensor located on the Catalytic Converter. However you should check and/or replace both sensors if needed.
3. You have an Exhaust Leak.
In Order of checking:
A. Check and Repair any Exhaust Leak.
B. Replace the O2 Sensor on the Catalytic Converter 1st. Also Known as the Downstream O2 Sensor or HO2 Sensor.
C. Replace the O2 on the Exhaust Manifold prior to the Catalytic Converter. Also Known as the Upstream O2 Sensor.
D. Replace the Catalytic Converter.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have any additional information, problems or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

O2 sensor location

DTC P0156 indicates the output voltage of the downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is less than some calibratable functional window. The possible causes are:
  1. Pinched, shorted and/or corroded wiring and pins.
  2. Crossed sensor wires
  3. Exhaust leaks.
  4. Contaminated HO2S.
  5. Bad HO2S.
Since you didnt specify the engine size in your vehicle - please see the diagram below for the location of the sensor(s)
