2001 Ford Escape V6, it is idling too low when stopped and it is in gear. The whole SUV shakes very hard, but when you step on the gas and the RPM's go up, the shaking stops. We have gotten a tune up, new battery, new air filter, new fuel filter & replaced all hoses. We replace the IAC yearly, but when that starts going out the SUV just doesn't start and we haven't experienced this issue.

Yeah, I'm from Minnesota, so know what you mean. You need to check the flow of air. A couple things. Is it any better if you have the re-circulator on? Also, does the temperature gauge vary any between idle and driving?
Try idle in neutral with the engine running at driving RPM - does that make a change?
your idling must very low thats why your car shakes..check the rpm gauge and refer to your vehicles manual on proper rpm when idle..bring to the mechanic to adjust the idling rpm
First thing would be to replace the fuel filter. Then spark plugs. You may have a weak fuel pump. A faulty fuel pressure regulator could also cause this.
It sounds like your alternator or battery is beginning to fail. An alternator may provide enough power at idle when there is a low power load. Once you activate the heat or AC, the load is too much for a defective alternator to support.
Adjusting the idle is not the solution. Not only will it mask the electrical problem, it will prevent you from stopping your vehicle safely.
No there could be a number of reason, bad gas, pvc valve needs to be replaced, fuel filter plugging up, egr valve sensor needs to be replaced or the oxygen sensor . Best to have a diagnostic done before replacing a lot of expensive parts. Takes the guess work out .
Take ur suv to the nearest high point...Get out of the suv, put it in neutral..and firmly push off of cliff. Problems solved. report it stolen the next morning.
