Please note........
Coolant tabs in the Northstar engine will not prevent overheating.
The coolant supplement tablets were put in at the factory in order to stop nuisance leaks due to the porosity of the aluminium alloy.
They have nothing to do with head gasket failure.

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line(small hose). The purge line is designed to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank (not the cap) ,this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating.
If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage.
The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side close to the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.

The AC condensation drain tube is also located on the passenger side fire-wall towards the bottom of the fire-wall, it is there to drain the condensation from the evaporator/core plenum so that it does not flood the passenger compartment floorboard with water and it can easily be viewed from under the vehicle, and if it is cool clear water that is leaking and not hot coolant then you have no problem and that is a normal condition when the AC is operating.

If it was a coolant leak the cooling system would be low on coolant, and the engine would run hot when the coolant gets low.

Yes, there is supposed to be special sealing tablets used in sealing that vehicles cooling system, but they are supposed to be put in before the engine is ran and over-heated, and the dealer damn well knows that those tablets have to be used in the cooling system or the engine will without a doubt over-heat, if they did run that engine without first putting in those tablets and any damage has occured such as a blown head gasket then that dealer is definitely the one who is responsible for it. (those floating cylinder designed engines will always over-heat and blow the head gaskets if those special sealing tablets are not used and everyone in the industry knows that)

If you have any problems with that vehicle over-heating then you should return it to the dealer that sold it to you as soon as possible, and if they gave you any kind of a hassle I would really have to question the ethics of that business.

It sure sounds like the heater core, especially if you have water leaking inside the cabin. The two heater hoses only go from the engine to the firewall, and do not go into or through the firewall. They connect to the heater core right at the firewall.
Check carefully around the back side of the engine and the heater hoses, though. If a freeze plug is leaking, water will be dripping off the bottom of the engine. If it is leaking before the firewall, that would not be the heater core.

2002 bonneville coolant leak

check water pump hose and the pump. a clogged thermostat can cause pressure build up and bust hoses. and of course take radiator out and check for lower hoses and crackes. if no luck, put water in radiator and run car and check for leaks. small cracks in aluminum are hard to see but expands when radiator gets hot.

Why is my coolant overflowing when my 2006 Chevy equinox heats up?

thet moment stop your engine and grab top radiator hose, feel the heat then grab lower radiator hose they have to be hot same heat. Top hose very hot is radiator blockage, Or lower hose very hot thermostat damage ,for test thermostat tide whith a string or wire have one glass cold water and juck boiling water deep thermostat in and you have to see the opening if is not then you have to replace it. Don ever youse radiator flush with the thermostat on. Blown head gasket means continual air bubble when you remove radiator cap special white froth, check for loose or damage hose and heter leaks when cooling system is under pressure.check low and high rpm exhaust fumes.

How to fix leakage of AC on passenger side of Toyota Yaris 2008

It sounds like the evaporator drain tube is blocked or came off the duct inside, pull the carpet back and locate the rubber drain hose on the bottom of the evaporator housing, the hose should go through the firewall so water can drain out, the hose may have become disconnected before the firewall or it come off at the evap housing, pull the hose of the evaporator if water comes out make sure the hose goes out through the firewall and is not clogged.

Put in a thermostat an heater still blows cold air what could it be?

Very well could be the heter core. It sits just behind your dash on the passengers side. If you look in the back of the engine agains the firewall you should see two hoses going into the firewall together. The come from your engine block. Run the vehicle and get it up to normal running temp and turn the heat on. Touch both hoses with your hand and see if they are both hot. If one is hot and the other is cold then your core is blocked and you wont get heat. If they are both cold then you have a different issue such as temp sensor or water pump issue.

Where is evaporator hose on 2001 dodge dakota?clean water on floor .

Condensed water from the AC drains out through the fire wall. Check that small tube/hose for plugs. Some models just have a hard plastic tube sticking out and when the seal on the firewall goes bad, the water drains back into the passenger compartment. Add a piece of hose to that plastic tube so it drips down away from the firewall.

Very little heat from my 2002 Taurus. Changed thermastat, added antifreeze, new overflow tank and had the air bled. Now what can I do?

i would probably try and flush out the heater core, it may be plugged up, to do this there are two heter hoses that go into the firewall at the back of the motor, remove those and use a garden hose to back flush it. If nothing comes out try a rad flush solution and let it sit inside the heater core for 10-15 minutes and then try to flush it again

Your car probably has AC so the box under the hood has a drain for removed moisture and this can often clog with environmental debris; when that happens, the water can't drain any more and may end up inside the car.

I have a 2000 oldsmobil intrigue its over heating i canged water pump turmstat radiator car is still over heating 5 minuts down the road and it gets upto the red zone but if i idel it 2000rpm or over it...

I would say you have an air lock in the cooling system and it needs to be bled. Your water pump is cavitating, meaning an air bubble developes around the water pump impellars, an can't circulate the water.
