I put 26in rims on my 2008 sierra 1500 and the service tire monitor system came on. how do i turn this off?

You have to change the stems out of your old tires to your new ones if it isn't already done. the old stems have the pressure monitors on them that tie into your trucks TPMS(tire pressure monitoring system). You can look in your manuel and find out the steps to reseting once it is done. I recommend taking it to discount tire after stems are in new wheels.....they will reset everything for free. If you take your old tires and let them do everything it will cost bout $400. I just put 26in. rims on my 08 sierra also and have same light. No big deal you just wont ever know if your pressures are low in your tires.....some people will change your stems out for a cheaper fee. I suggest that and then take it to discount and let them reset everything. Cheapest way...

Depending on what type of monitor it has its could be an easy fix. If they use a band type monitor that wraps around your wheel just have your tire shop pull the monitors off all your wheels and put all four of them on your spare. Given, you'll never know when your tires are low via dash light but we all managed to do without that for years anyway. On the plus side you'll be POSITIVE on the pressure of your spare.

How do i get the front wheel off i have removed wheel nuts whats next its solid

PUT ADDITIONAL BLOCKS UNDER THE TRUCK! OR A GOOD JACKSTAND! You no doubt have aluminum rims. They tend to oxidize to the rotors. Take a sledge hammer or some thing else functional and tap on the rubber of the wheel in a circular pattern. If it is really stuck, hit from the inside rubber to pop it loose. Also you can lower the jack to put pressure on the wheel and turn the steering wheel back and forth a little.Be careful please! Or in a pinch, just turn around and mule kick the tire!

My tire pressure warning light won't go off. I changed rims and tires.(Dodge rims) Now my warning light doesn't go off.

your tires should all be set to the same psi per your sticker on the door-including the spare tire. If one is under inflated, it'll do that.

Wheels were changed on my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup and I get a continuous light for the tire pressure monitor system.Won't reset so what is my problem and how can I fix it?

If just the tires were changed and you still have the original rims on the vehicle then you may just have a bad pressure sensor in on of the rims or the system may need to be reprogammed to recognize the sensors. If the RIMS were also changed then the replacement rims may not have the pressure sensors in them in which case the light will always be on since the system is always looking for pressure sensor signals that aren't there. If the rims were replaced and don't have the sensors you can purchase and install new sensors in these rims and program them so the system will recognize them.

08 gmc sierra 2500 service tire monitor system stays on. All tires are the same. New tires put on 2 weeks ago.

Maybe one of the tires was put on the rim backwards or one is low air because they should of balanced those tires first .

first check your tire pressures. and if the light is still on i believe that you need a new valve stem. every so often these warnings come on because the valve stem actually has a tiny battery in it. and they do go dead. i hope you find this info usfull and please rate my solution

Tire pressure light remains on.

We took it back to the dealer. They made the necessary adjustments needed after the winter tires +rims were put on.

Tire pressure monitor system

There is no way to disconect the system that I know of. Plus that would be illegal if it was possible. It may be possible to put you sensors in the new rims (if they fit) then you would have to take it to the shop and have them relearned. Sorry
