Stop light switch wire harness

On my 1995 ford taurus, there is no electricity going to the stop light switch wire harness on the brake pedal. The fuses for this switch are good. How can I find what the problem is?

The brakes lights work off a brake light switch mounted very close to the brake pedal. If you have cruise control it will be a duplex switch with two harnesses attached to that switch on the bracket between the steering column and the brake pedal bracket

1993 ford taurus will not come out of park, brake lights won't come on even with new fuse

You likely have a broken wiring harness at the brake light switch connector under the dash above the brake pedal. You can buy a replacement stub harness from Ford parts.

Move into a position where you can easily see underneath the driver's side of the Ford pickup's dashboard. How you do this depends on your physical size and dexterity.

Shine the flashlight on the brake pedal arm to illuminate the stop light switch and the stop light switch mounting bracket. Unplug the Ford pickup's brake light wiring harness from the switch by hand.

I have a 2000 chevy 2500 and the tail lights, tag lights and brake lights have stopped working, I checked the bulbs and they are good, fuses are good. Have not replaced the brake relay under the hood. Do I...

check for power at the wires going intop the tail lights, real common that the circuit board is bad, but unlikely both at the same time. The tag, tail lights and brakes are 2 different systems. Do the turn signals work normally? if so the wiring from the turn signal switch to the brake lights is GOOD. the stop light switch had\s a ORANGE wire that should have 12V if not ck STOP LPS fuse, when brake pedal is depressed, the WHITE wire is 12V (at the stop light switch) if that is OK, the turn signal switch COULD be bad. The wiring harness plug is near the back left under the tailgate, see if that is disconnected?

I need the exact location of the break light switch on a 92 labaron 2.5

The brake light switch is mounted to the brake pedal bracket assembly, under the instrument panel. The stop lamp switch attached to the mounting bracket.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Unplug the two brake switch wiring harness connectors.
  3. Remove the wiring harness for the switch from the clip on the brake pedal bracket assembly. Remove the nut and washer from the switch and bracket assembly stud and remove the switch and bracket assembly. To install:
  1. Position the switch and bracket assembly to the brake pedal bracket assembly, then install the nut and lockwasher. Tighten the retaining nut for the bracket until finger-tight (loose enough to allow movement of the bracket).
  2. Attach the electrical wiring harness connectors and route the wire through the retainer clip.
  3. Push the switch forward (toward the front of the vehicle) as far as it will go (this will cause the brake pedal to move forward slightly).
  4. Gently pull backward (toward the rear of the vehicle) on the brake pedal until the pedal lever rests against the its stop. This will ratchet the switch back to its properly adjusted position.
  5. Tighten the switch and bracket assembly mounting bracket nut securely.
