is there a way to test these before i go replacing a million parts.

  • Anonymous Jan 02, 2010

Thank you for that. I just know that it was running really bad before we change the fuel filter and fuel pump. Because before those changes no engine light came on. Once the fuel pump was changed the light came on and then it only missed going up hills. Before the fuel pump was replaced i would start it and then some times it just killed over or miss while sitting still. Then it would also have missing issues like crazy and so maybe it was good deal to change the fuel pump? Also before i replaced the fuel pump it would sit all day at work and then i would start it up and it would rumble a little and then going up hills it sounds like a rattle in a can when hitting speeds of 45-60 up hills (when it would do that i could romp on it and it would go away). So all it took was for 3 weeks ago it got rainy and then all the missing and killing over started. So today i found someone to read me the codes and it pulled up the two codes. last week i took it to a shop and they put it on a computer and wont tell me the codes. Why pay when your no going to give me the codes. I have a warrenty and the car hit 65505 3 weeks ago and now sits in the driveway until i find a way to tell.

Replace the O2 Sensor and look at replacing the wires and Plugs. The engine seems to idle fine but hesitates and sputters under a load. Those are all Ignition system symptoms. The O2 Sensor would not normally be my first area of concern in a vehicle but you are right on the line as far as needing a replacement. Replace the Spark plugs and wires even if you aren't at that point in mileage and consider replacing the O2 sensor. It may very well be a crankcase sensor or Crank Position sensor but those should be under warranty unless the vehicle has 150000 miles on it. They rarely go out this early in the life span of the vehicle unless it has been abused.

Testimonial: "good and fast response. I have no clue of what to say for my issues."

You can use an Ohm Meter to test the plug wires but you would have to get the repair manual on your vehicle to see what resistance they should have. The repair manual will also tell you exactly what those codes stand for. The code reader most Auto Zone stores use will identify what the code is for as well. I am diagnosing based on the symptoms you presented in the description. If you haven't replaced your wires or plugs in the last 50k miles I would do so. If that code P320 is the crank position Sensor it is possible for it to show faulty if the vehicle is missing which will present you with a false code. A Haynes manual will take you through verifying the problem and doing the repair and is available at Auto Zone or your local auto parts store.

2004 lincoln navigator keeps beeping shows hot up hill cool and beeping stops down hill

Your temperature sensor may be signaling that your coolant is low. Also if this is so why is it low, possibly a leak or bad head gasket. Check and see. Good Luck Friend.

Where is the crank sensor located on a 2000 navigator? I've been told several different locations and after recent back surgery I don't feel like crawling all around to find it

run the fault codes and that will test the sensor for you. Check the immobiliser for correct operation. fault codes may say that it is a cam position sensor in which case check to see if the cam shaft is turning(broken timing belt)

Power loss going uphill on 2004 lincoln navigator

1st thing, replace your fuel filter? Verify cylinder 3 misfire isn't either a spark plug or coil. Swap cylinder 2 and 3 and see if the code turns into a p0302.

Adv track lite comes on shuts off going up hill

You will need to get the Fault Codes, as I hope
you do, a couple times a year, when you have
any MIL Lamp on your dash.

You have an ABS Braking System problem, the
Advance Trac is an option to that system, which
I am sorry I ever got on my Lincoln LS.
Pretty much makes the veh useless in the snow,
as it slams on the back brakes and cuts out
injectors.

You may have a bad Wheel Speed Sensor

Until you or a repair shop retrieve the codes,
no diagnostic work or solution will be found,
and it can't be accepted for inspection with
any dash lights on

Our Jeep liberty Po320 code than misfire replaced parts and same codes again than stalls after it get warm. Could this be a PCM units

disconnecting the battery will only temporarily erase your code or check engine light. put your keys in the ignition, then turn it in the on position. Do not turn it so that the engine turns over, but as if you were just turning the radio on. Keep it on for 2 to 4 seconds repeat 40 times. i no it may take a while but unless you have a scanner its the only way.

How do i locate a crank sensor and the code comes up as po320. thank you

Yes the po320 code is no signal at the crank. It is located on the transmission bellhousing. Its on the lefthand side of the housing in the top quarter. At the back of the motor. After the problem has been fixed,do not disconnect the battery to clear the code.Get the codes cleared before starting the motor or the comp may set a trouble code for that.A scan tool is needed from a dealer or good shop.I hope this helps

Trouble getting fuel to climb in incline or hill.

Has the Maf sensor been chk'd? It controls the fuel. If the engine doesn't run proper, the transmission will act up. The maf sensor is located as the first sensor coming out of the air clraner. Inexpensive, easy replace fix. Good luck
