If you've never had the brake pads/shoes replaced, it's probably the metal backing of the pads grinding against the brake rotors -- metal on metal. You need to have the brakes checked, and if this is the case, will need to replace the pads/shoes and rotors/drums.

My 2009 ford escape will not unlock sometimes and it makes a growling noise when driving.

the central locking works from a pump that mounted in rear side panel
your problem is possibly an air leak so the pump keeps running causing the noise while driving

2004 ford escape 3.0 v6 awd. When car is on, depressing the brakes makes a clicking noise. Abs light comes on when car turns to the right.

Probably your front right caliper is siezed, and also the rotor is warped making the clicking noise.

2001 ford escape makes a hissing and high pitched squealing sound when the brake pedal is released?

You need to have the brakes inspected. This noise is the brake pad wear warning tab hitting the brake rotor.;

Having trouble with the brakes on my '90 Ford ranger. Replaced the master cylinder and still have very little braking power. Any help would be appreciated!

***Seek out professional help this vehicle is not safe to operate.***

Check the vacuum line going to the brake booster.

This is the big round chamber behind the master cylinder.

Hope this tip helps.

Anti lock brakes

you need to have your brakes checked on the front and also have them check wheel bearing on that side. when a car sits overnight in humid conditions the brake rotors will rust over lightly, that normally is removed off of rotor after first brake application. it shouldnt do it after you keep driving. abs does make noises though when it is working, sliding, so I would pop my hood and check for abs computer. It has brake lines and electrical connection going to it. Im not saying its bad but just look at its location and see if the sound of it functioning/location seems to make it sound like it is left wheel
