Electrically, you could also have a bad fuel pump relay, a bad fuse, or a burnt contact in your ignition switch. Mechanically, you may also have a blocked fuel filter a bad pump, or an open fuel pressure regulator.

I would check the fuel pump relay for power with someone helping cycle the key on and off. The pump only comes on for two seconds to fill the fuel rail. If you have power at the relay the switch is working and then you can check for function at the pump. If you have a repair manual of some kind check for the fuel pump power test lead location for the fuel pump. It should be under the hood somewhere near the drivers side firewall. You can put 12 volts to this terminal and run the pump by itself and be sure it's ok. If it runs and you don't get any fuel pressure you either have a blocked filter/line or a bad pump!

Good luck and be careful.

Did you change the fuel filter? Or maybe clogged injectors.

I have a daf LF45 2005 need to change fuel pump. does the engine have to be timed ,or can i just take it out

Makes no diff what the vehicle is, changing the fuel pump is not a part of any timing sequence unless it's the fuel injection pump on a diesel engine. Other than that, the fuel pump is actuated only by a bump/lobe on the cam. Nothing to time.

Will the anti theft stop a 2001 ford ranger from getting fire to fuel pump

Have you checked the fuel pump cutoff switch? Do that first, make sure the red button is seated into the switch, if it is tripped it will click when you push the switch. Also you're aware the pump only runs when the key is held to the engine crank position and of course when the engine is running, with the key just turned on the pump will not have power.
