I need to install a direct fm box in my 04 ford f250. this item is needed to complete xm radio installation and eliminate static. Can i access the radio from below or do i have to remove the radio. If so how do i remove it. (Radio, CD, Tape combination)

Its called a FM Direct Adapter. Directly connects your XM radio to your vehicle FM radio. It gives decent instruction on how to hook up, i just dont know how to get truck radio out so i can connect it.

The radio is removed with a special tool set, it can be bought at any good parts store like NAPA, it is made by KD tools, the two U shaped tools go into the holes on each side of the radio face plate and release the spring clips that hold the radio in, a 30 sencond job.

Troubleshooting the problem may depend on which of several radio options is installed in your vehicle. However, the most probable cause is the antenna. Two different antennas are involved here - one for XM (satellite), one for FM (terrestrial - window type). To start, I would check the FM antenna connections at the window and the radio and the cable between them. If that isn't the problem, the radio is probably faulty.

Not a fuse. Could be antenna leads dirty some component in the radio.

1st you will need to contact Infiniti, so they can quote you the option which is $700.00 something dollars when i checked. Just because its equipped there are still things that need to be added in order to make it function. As per the mechanic. Rip off.

Radio Not Working

There are 3 fuses in the interior fuse panel that feeds radio.
no. 11(10amp) is ignition switch power to the radio it comes into radio on the TN/LB wire.
no. 27 (10amp) is hot at all times and comes in on OG/LG wire.
no. 12 (5amp) is hot in run or accessory and comes in on YE/BK wire.
Check these with 12V test light at fuse and at radio connector.

2007 Toyota Sequoia Dashboard Access to Radio console FM Antenna

Pull off the 3 knobs for the heat controls. You will see a screw under the center knob. Remove it. Look to see if there are any screws near the vent grilles, remove them, if they are there. The whole center fascia then pulls out towards you. Remove the 4 bolts, and the radio is out. Easy.

Most of the New Aftermarket Stereo's now have the Connections for Sirius and XM Built in so you just need the Sat. Install Box. Really Simple. If you want to go a Cheaper Route Just Purchase the XM or Sirius Reciever and Mounting kit for the Dash or Windshield and It will play through an Empty FM Station on the Radio Via the FM Transmitter. Got one in all of my Vehicles and they work Great!

XM radio goes in and out

Call the XM service number, they will refresh your signals. If it was the head unit, the same problem would occur during AM/FM signal transmission
