Diesel filter has an almost indefinite life unless a batch of dirty fuel finds its way into the fuel tank. Diesel is very clean these days and dirty fuel usually is confined to fuel stops with old underground tanks Water is another possible problem but many modern vehicles have a water detector.

The only other possible worry is operating in freezing conditions where diesel waxing could be a problem if the fuel company has forgotten to include winter additive - when waxing occurs the cleanest possible filter is sometimes the difference between getting home and not...

SOURCE: suzuki forenza

I have had the same problem recently. I did some searching on the internet and came up with nothing. I went out to my car and decided to take a look at the gas cap. I noticed that after turning it and hearing the clicks that are supposed to tell you it is tight, the cap came off again with no effort at all. I brought the gas cap to Advance Auto Parts and I found out that the spring mechanism inside the top of the gas cap was worn from use. This was causing the vapors to leak out inturn causing the check engine light to come on. I bought a replacement STANT gas cap (specifically for the 2006 Suzuki Forenza) for $9 and the light has been off for the past two weeks. The dealer wanted $80 to diagnose the problem and then another $30 if they needed to order a gas cap. So, I decided $9 was better to waste then $110 trying to figure out the problem. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1995 toyota camry-stalling out when driving

You do not have to replace the fuel pump at a specific mileage.
I hate to speculate without physically inspecting the vehicle, but, my best solution here & now may be the fuel pump. Now, I would not go out & buy one before you had proper diagnosis. Here is one test, but you will need to have to experience the stall again, and then test to see if you have fuel pressure at the injectors. If you have no fuel pressure, replace the pump. Fuel filter issues do not "come & go", they stay, and your car would not run properly. Also, a fuel pump failure will not set a computer code on this particular model vehicle. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: truck cuts off while driving down the road.

Replace the TFI module. Ford back in 1986 thur 1993 had problems like the one you wrote about. TFI module gets hot and shuts car or truck off then when it cools sometmies starts and sometimes not.

SOURCE: ford festiva just dies while going down the road

i had many problems with what i thought was my starter/ignition and replaced my alternator and battery. tho they were helpful, ultimately the problem was a small fusible link that had needed to be replaced, as it was over heating and when it would it would stop whatever electrical signal was imperitive to the car actually running. if i was driving and the wire over heated, it would stop running right on the road. i just used some 12 AWG stranded wire and it stopped stalling.i discovered it by accident when i touched the wire and noticed it was excessively hot and worn down. it was located in the upper right hand corner under the hood, where there are 3 wires, brown and black.

SOURCE: Fuel filter

There is no need to change it frequently. If there is a loss of engine power or if throttle cuts out then may be its the time to change fuel filter. It is recommended by peugeot to change fuel filter (but depends on fuel purity) after every 36000 miles.

You can clean it yourself
Dipp the whole filter body in carosine oil tank and leave it in there for about 20-30 minutes
Pour some petrol in filter with the help of plastic piped and apply a slight air pressure (use a piece of pipe to blow) in the reverse direction (marked with arrows) of fuel supply to clear residue and heavy oil composite that clogged in filter.
Repeating the cleaning process 2-3 times will clean the filter to reuse it without the need of a new one to buy.

I have a 2000 garaged Mustang w/ only 22,000 miles. The dealer is advising the following services: Change fuel filter. Coolant exchange, pis exchange, and fuel and induction services. Transmission flush. Do...

It depends on the length of time that the vehicle has been not running. The fuel filter I would give a miss. Transmission oil can become contaminated with moisture and if not used for a period of time tends to promote rust in the exposed parts in the transmission. The coolant should be changed every 2 years or checked for % in the water. Generally I would say that if the garage period was less than 3 months then all I would be doing would be charging the battery . If over 12months off the road the a test of the coolant for % and an oil change of the transmission would be about as far as I would go. Remember that the engine oil should be changed every 6 months if run in that period of time to remove water moisture in the oil from the combustion process

Diesel engine

no DTC posted, wow , nor year. and which Diesel.
I guess you need to understand how EFI works
in a nut shell, the EFI can compensate for weak parts.
including a weak pump.
that magic is called closed loop.
but on newer cars, the pump is monitored for proper pressure,
this is a godsend.
if the pressure drops, IT WILL GET Worse.
Great information to learn just before a 3000 mile trip, right?"
it's and early warning,,,
and can be caused by many things.
1: love voltage to pump, (bad wiring)\
2: pump weak.
3:: fuel pressure regulator stuck open (or closed of pressure too high
you never gave DTC so cant advise ,)
4: crushed fuel lines, from driving off road. etc.
some cars uses different Diesel injection systems in different countries.
and country not stated.

I am driving a 2006 KB 250 fleetside, just over 101250km. This is my first diesel vechile and i`m abid worried about my fuel consumption. Done a trip to luderitz recently and used about 38 lts for 390 km...

The injectors have o-rings that will wear and cause fuel leak into engine and cause same smoke problem ,but glow plugs are only for engine firing.........you can change o-rings only but if it has lot of miles i would do injectors...
however make sure the fuel rail isnt leaking at injector connection.also check exhaust for excessive heat or noise inside cat.converter if you can shake it.....some come apart inside.....
it would be worth having the engine scanned to make sure 02 sensors are good..they control air/fuel mix and if oxygen level is incorrect it will burn more fuel and sometimes fuel scent but not very bad.

How many miles or time period between oil change is recommended for Acura 2006 MDX? Is synthetic oil recommended or required?

Depends on driving style. Dusty roads? Lot of stop and go? Lot of short trips under 5 miles? Then 3000 miles is a good interval. If it's all highway miles then you can stretch it to 5000 miles. Synthetic is always better because of it's resistance to breaking down and loosing it's lubrication abilities. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if it's required in that car.

What time engine oil change

many asian imports recommend oil change intervals of up to 7500 miles, and only changing the oil filter every other oil change. but there are factors that come into play. for instance japan (Toyota, Nissan, etc) is an island, and korea (Kia) is a small peninsula. Not may 2-3 thousand mile cross country road trips. plus mass transportation and highly urban driving makes for shorter driving trips. also, synthetic oils can tolerate more use before the viscosity begins to break down. for USA use the time-honored 3000 miles for oil and filter is more advisable considering the cost of that more regular maintenance versus the cost of potential damage.

1995 k2500 Chevy truck engine runs rough some of the time?

I had a similar problem @105k. I had changed the fuel filter but it was still sending all kinds of codes that were related to 2 problems. Long story short, the main problem was a bad trigger assembly in the distributor (rough running) and the other was a loose engine to body ground (engine code issue). Good luck, this worked for me, now 171k.

Just had a gas refill, no acceleration ck eng light

change fuel filter. If you have someone local, have them run a fuel sytem clean out on your car. Then add a can of Seafoam to your fuel. It is all about the ethanol goop problem that are causing all the problems on these cars. it fills the system up with water, and turns to gas into a brown syrup. but every 3000 miles(after this). if you add Seafoam to your car, it will keep the lines clean, break up the goop, and your car will not have line freeze up this winter. good luck
