I have a 94 Buick Park Avenue that stutters under a light load, say a slight grade. I had the tranny checked/flushed and changed out the plugs and that seemed to help a bit, but the problem is still there. When it happens it makes a sound under the hood that almost sounds like sizzling, when it stops, the rpm's drop 100-200. It stops when when you give it a little gas. It happens in 3rd gear as well as when it is in overdrive. Seems like an electrical problem to me, but I don't know where to start. Thanks
My 94 park avenue would stutter around a specific rmp range, and usually under a light load. this was caused by the plug wires being bad, they didn't look bad, but once replaced, ran perfectly.
start the car, and rev the engine (don't be afraid to rev through the full rmp range), checking to see if the stutter happens at any specific rmp range (mine happend around 3k rmp). if it does, this is a sure sign that your plug wires are bad & need changed. if they've never been changed on your 94, good idea to change them any how.
sounds like it may be the wires, if your plugs helped some, the slightly better spark would help, but the wires could still not be transporting the current efficiently enough, causing the stutter.
hope this helps.
Check for a loose harmonic balancer(big pulley on bottom of engine.
oil soak can damage this part too.
