SOURCE: oil pressure excessively high

There are a few things to cause the oil pressure to change.
The first, and easiest to check, is your oil filter. Some filters have a bypass valve, when did you last have engine serviced ?
Another part is the oil pressure sender itself. It may be shorting or going bad.
Please check those out and let me know.

Would a bad pvc valve cause a 2008 Ford Fusion to smoke when going up hill

not necessarily
the purpose of the PCV valve is to vent the compression gases that by pass the rings into the sump back through the inlet manifold and so have the fumes burnt before going out the exhaust pipe
There fore it stands to reason that if you have worn rings/ broken ring or cylinder scored then there will be excess compression gas to the sump which tends to boil off the oil or actually burn the oil fumes in the sump and this excessive smoke will find its way back into the inlet manifold and if too much ,out the exhaust as smoke
when going up a hill that amounts to extra compression being exerted on the rings and pistons and a larger part of the compression gas into the sump and out the rear as smoke
I suggest that you have a compression test done to gauge the condition of the engine, an oil pressure test done with a mechanical gauge to measure the oil pressure to determine the condition of the bearings as excessive bearing clearance will overload the weak oil rings and that will also cause smoke out the exhaust
you have not mentioned the mileage done by the motor but as it is 2008 model and calculating the average mileage covered for that year vehicle I am thinking that the motor may be a bit worn
however the suggested tests done by an accredited service shop will give fairly good results to determine the next move

Miss firing at my ka20 nissan engine

run fault codes for electronic faults. Have a pressure test done to determine fuel pressure problems as low pressure will cause misfiring. Check injector operations and nozzles for operation

My friend has a Mercedes benz C200D it cranks but is not starting

If system voltage is too low the computer won't send any current to the solenoid. So the lights stay bright instead of suddenly getting dim and you getting that click-click-click sound. And now that you have added details that sounds even more likely that the battery is done.Engine cranks normally, but it does not fire: You turn the key to start and hear the starter motor crank the engine, but when you release the key, the cranking stops and there is silence. This means that the battery and starting motor are working properly, but the engine is not firing. If you continue cranking the engine over in this way, the battery will eventually run down and will need to be recharged, but the battery and starter are not the cause of your problem. There are a number of causes for this type of no-start condition, the most common being that you are simply out of gas. Assuming that you have fuel in the tank, you will need to go through a series of tests to determine what is causing the problem. The testing procedure requires that you use specialized equipment in order to determine the problem area. There are three main tests in order to get you pointed in the right direction. You will need to test for Spark, Fuel and Compression, in that order. As soon as you see a problem in one of those areas, that is where you will need to concentrate your efforts.Spark:An easy way to test for spark is with an inexpensive spark tester. This is a device that is readily available at most auto supply stores. You use it by simply holding it next to a spark plug wire. If you see the neon lamp flashing while someone cranks the engine, then you have spark and should move on to checking for fuel. If there is no spark, or a very weak spark, you will have to do a series of methodical tests that vary depending on the type of vehicle. You will need a repair manual for your car in order to get the correct diagnostic procedures. A good source for on-line repair information at a reasonable price is Alldata-DIY.Fuel:First step here is to listen for the fuel pump running inside the gas tank. When you turn the key to run, you should easily hear the pump come on, run for a few seconds to build fuel pressure, then turn off. If you do not hear it, it could mean that the fuel pump or circuitry is bad. (Fuel pump failure is a common problem on modern cars.) Fuel injected cars are very sensitive to proper fuel pressure. If the pressure is off, even by a few pounds, it will cause noticeable performance problems, or a no-start condition. To check for proper fuel pressure, you will need a fuel pressure gauge that is suitable for your type of system. A fuel injected engine (found on just about every vehicle less than 20 years old) produces very high fuel pressures and requires a fuel pressure gauge that reads up to 100 pounds per square inch. This type of gauge has a threaded connector that must match the pressure tap on your fuel rail. Since you are working with a highly combustible fluid which can be quite dangerous if you do not know what you are doing, you should leave this step to a pro.

Engine suddenly quits (like a fuel pump relay going out) but once I stop the car, wait a minute, and try to restart, it starts again and runs for a little while longer (not very long though). Fuel pump? ...

Without doing some testing, NOBODY can give you a definite answer for that. It first has to be determined if the problem is being caused by a failure in the fuel system or a failure in the ignition system. Then the failing system must be diagnosed to determine which PART of the system is failing i.e. is it mechanical? Is it electrical?

The only good answer for you at this point is that you should have your computer system scanned for fault codes before even trying to do anything else. There may be a fault code that will lead you directly to the problem.

your timing belt/ chain could be out of time, could have a clogged cat/ could be bad o2 sensor throwing off the air/ fuel mixture. any combo of those also.

have you done a cylinder pressure test?, that will determine if you have a blown head gasket or not. cuz if its a gasket, the pressure would just go to another cylinder and no pressure = no power.
