First check fluid level in transfer case (under the vehicle). Check manual for fluid type and exact recommended level.
Second > Drive in reverse s-l-o-w for about 30 feet. Shift to "drive" and go forward about the same 30+ feet. Now attempt to go into 4X4 mode. If not a malfunctioning solenoid, the above should do the trick.

My reverse lights dont work and i need to no where at on trans.

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced

What kind of tranny will work to replace mine?

Yes. They should both be 46RE transmissions and the bolt patterns and the plugs should be the same.

Wipers not working,will not come out of 4x4 dodge dekota 2001

I knew that when mine did this it had too be more than a coincidence. So I started at the fuse panel and BINGO! the 20 amp fuse for the wipers (#5 on the 2001) was blown. When I replaced it everything went back to normal. Wish ALL repairs were that simple and cheap!
