Themost likely cause of the problem is the condution of your antifreeze. You see it dosn't last forever 5 years is a good rule of thumb. What happens is you have a small leak someware so you add water . At this point the system is not holding proper pressure 14. 2 lbs because of the leak. Could be the cap or a hose or the radiator it self has broken down and the leak is a fine mist that you can't even see it leaking its a mist. However the block is made of iron and it rusts . This puts rust in the antifreeze that flows through out the entire system clogging things like the heater core and radiator. So at this point you need to know the conduition of the antifreeze there is a test tool similar to a battery tester it has a # of small color coded balls in it when antifreeze is drawn from the radiator they should float if not you need to drain all antifreeze from the entire system and the block it has a pipe thread plug on each side of the block. Fill with water add 10 munite cleaner let it heat up then drain all again you may need to repeat this step. Then remove the 5/8 s hoses from the heater core on the passanger side of the fire wall if you have a mixing valve in one of these lines remove and clean -free up so it moves if its stuck. The heat core can also be cleaned at this point by pluging short lenghts of 5/8 hose on bolth sides with something to catch the flow of water when you gentle force water back and forth from side to side with a garden hose . Then put new antifreeze in and you will be good for 5 years if there are no leaks so check for all leak
