Rule one thing out.... make sure you're coolant reservoir is full

The compressor has a thermal switch, if it gets too hot in the engine bay, will turn off, then back on when it's cooled off.

Remove the Positive Battery Terminal, leave the Negative Terminal connected.  Wait 30 minutes.  Attach the Positive Terminal.  Verify temperature settings is around 70 degrees.  This procedure has been known to resolve computer settings.

SOURCE: 2004 chevy tahoe, dual climate control, blowing different temps

Its more then likely the temp door broken or temp door motor broken/stuck. There is 2-3 of these motors under the dash on the side of the evap/heater core box. Some require extensive labor to replace, good luck

There is a well known problem that is a manufacturer's defect with the soldered connection on the circuit board behind the temperature knob. There is a fix to re-solder the connections but the dealer will gladly take $450 to replace it with the same bad board that will last you a while. Look for the link to show you how to fix it yourself.

SOURCE: i have a climate control problem on 2004 gmc

The likely problem is the blower motor resistor pack is defective. It is located behind an access panel below the glovebox. Go to www.trailvoy.com and do a search on "blower motor resistor replacement"

Changed battery in my 2004 GMC Envoy and now my a/c only blows from the dash and rear vents. What could be wrong and where is the part located on the vehicle?

There are a couple of possibilities, one is that the HVAC system lost its calibration during the battery change or the actuator that controls the vent door has gone bad.
To recalibrate the HVAC system, set all HVAC controls and switches to OFF or fully CCW positions. Disconnect the battery for about 3 - 4 minutes, then reconnect the battery. Do not touch any of the HVAC controls for a few minutes, then try the controls to see if the air flows correctly.

2004 Envoy AC blows cold air then stops and start blowng hot ar

Your AC system is probably low on refrigerant, this could be cause by a leak. You should have the system checked by an HVAC technician.

I do not have any air coming out of the dash. The battery went dead while on vacation. I changed the climate control acuator and still have no air coming out of the dash. Only the floor and defroster.

When the battery went dead, the HVAC system lost its calibration. Try setting all switches and controls to their full OFF or CCW position, then disconnect the battery for about 3 minutes. Reconnect battery and don't touch any HVAC controls for a few minutes. If this does not solve the problem, you may have changed the wrong actuator. Below is a diagram of the HVAC system and actuator locations.

Try recalibrating the HVAC system first. Set all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW positions, then disconnect battery for a couple of minutes, reconnect battery and don't touch any of the HVAC controls for 2 - 3 minutes. If this does not correct the problem, you may have a stuck blend door or another bad actuator.

During the thermostat replacement your mechanic probably had to disconnect the battery. When reconnecting the battery, the HVAC system may not have recalibrated itself properly, or one (or more) of the doors (or its actuators) may have become stuck. Try the following; place all the HVAC switches and controls to their OFF or CCW positions, disconnect the battery for about a minute, then reconnect the battery. Do not touch any of the HVAC controls for at least 2 -3 minutes. If this procedure does not resolve the vent issue, you will need to have the HVAC system diagnosed.

Could be one of two things, HVAC needs to recalibrate itself or one of the blend doors (or its actuator) is stuck. To accomplish the recalibration, set all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW positions, pull fuses # 36 and 39 in the rear fuse panel, wait about a minute then reinstall fuses. Do not touch any of the HVAC controls for 2 -3 minutes. If this does not resolve the vent issue, you will need to have the HVAC diagnosed by a technician.

2004 GMC Envoy SLT, had to install a new battery. Prior to installation, dual air was working fine, now passenger's 2 vents are blowing hot air while dirver's side is cold. Need help

It is likely that one or more of the blend doors or their actuators are stuck. Before any repair action is done, try allowing the HVAC system to recalibrate itself. To do this, turn all HVAC controls and switches to their OFF or CCW postions, then disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes. Reconnect the battery, but do not touch any of the HVAC controls or switches for about 2 -3 minutes. If this does not cure the problem, the HVAC system will need to be diagnosed. Access to the blend doors and actuators may require some disassembly of the center dash area.

Replaced battery on 2004 envoy, hvac stays cold on drivers side and hot on passenger side. Took battery terminals back off and waited 10 min.s and replaced did not help.

First set all HVAC controls to off or fully CCW positions, then disconnect battery for 10 minutes. Reconnect battery and don't touch any HVAC controls for a few minutes. If this does not work you may have a bad actuator or blend door.

2006 slt gmc envoy ac problems vent controls anbd

{: ) The popping sound you heard is caused by the sudden movement of an HVAC door, most probably coming from the recirculation door actuator (right dashboard area) or the mode actuator( mid dashboard area). The fan outputs could be normally working, but is being muffled by the incorrect positioning of the HVAC doors, giving an impression that there is fault in the blower controls. In other words, your vehicle is having an air distribution issue.
If there's no conflict in your climate settings, then the trouble may be in the HVAC doors binding or broken, or the actuators faulty or sticking. In both cases, servicing may involve removal of the dashboard to access these HVAC components.
