SOURCE: Getting an engine code 1450 on a 2003 ford

Did you check the block box connected to the vent solenoid? There's a hose that comes off it that appears to run nowhere, that's the fresh air vent. If it's blocked it won't allow air into the system which will set the trouble code. If that's clear, the vent solenoid itself is bad and needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: getting an error code of PO449 for a check engine

You are right. You need the vent valve not the purge valve. The vent valve is a dealer item. Also this is a common problem and GM has released a bulletin on this that involves moving the location of the valve and running some new lines. It comes as a kit from GM, and it costs about a 100 bucks.

SOURCE: how to replace an evaporate canister vent solenoid

replacing the the F75Z-9F945-CA solenoid is not that difficult, granted the space is tight. First, disconnect the electrical connection. Second, remove the solenoid from the canister by pulling the solenoid toward the driver's side of the vehicle ( the solenoid is attached to the canister with an O ring connection). Once the solenoid is disconnected from the canister you should be able to pull it down from the crossmember to gain access to the vacuum line on the solenoid. Once the vacuum line has been disconnected, the solenoid should be free. Reverse the steps to install the new solenoid. I did this today and the procedure took about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Under the hood in the engine compartment . The vent solenoid is back by the gas tank ,with the charcoal canister vent valve ! But what makes you think the purge solenoid is the problem ? DTC P0455 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak Diagnostic This could be caused by a few different thing's . Did you have the vehicle smoke tested ? Do you know what that is ?

My engine light keep coming on the code is po446ichange the purge vale and something said it might be the intake manifold my truck is 2006 canyon truck

This code has nothing to do with the purge valve . Evap vent valve . Has nothing to do with intake manifold.
An intermittent condition could be caused by a damaged EVAP vent housing, a temporary blockage at the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve inlet, or a pinched vent hose. A blockage in the vent system will also cause a poor fuel fill problem.
• An EVAP canister, vent hose or vent solenoid valve that has restricted flow may cause this DTC to set. Using purge solenoid valve command with a scan tool will allow vacuum to be applied to the system instead of pressure. With the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve open and the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve commanded to 100 percent, vacuum should not increase to more than 9 inches H2O.
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

P1448 and P0455: EVAP air leaks - Maxima Forums"Here\'s your answer:

The EVAP codes you are getting are directly related to your

\'vent control valve\'. This is VERY COMMON on this generation

Maxima. Up under yer car behind the left rear wheel is your

EVAP canister. (black plastic box) Your vent control valveis

bolted directly to this canister, with 2 screws. There should

be a vacuum line connected to it. Be sure it IS, and that it

looks like it\'s in good condition.

These valves are notorious for going bad, even more

so than the ignition coilpacks! They dont cause any

decrease in performance, but it usually decreases gas mileage,

and it will cause it to fail emissions testing. But worst of all, it

makes that MIL light on the dash flash...

It\'ll cost ya about $60 from the dealer.. have yer VIN ready..

there are 2 different ones for this generation: 1 with a nipple

and o-ring, the other with no nipple (requires separate o-ring).

Part #\'s: 14935-54u04 OR 14935-54u06

How do I resolve diagnostic code P0455 on my 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Here is the definition and possible causes.

Possible causes - Missing or loose fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
- EVAP system hose leaking
- Fuel tank leaking
P0455 CHEVROLET Description This diagnosis detects leaks in the Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) purge line using engine intake manifold vacuum. If pressure does not increase, the Engine Control Module (ECM) will check for leaks in the line between the fuel tank and EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve under the following vacuum test condition.

The vacuum cut valve bypass valve is opened to clear the line between the fuel tank and the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve. The EVAP canister vent control valve will then be closed to shut the EVAP purge line off. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is opened to depressurize the EVAP purge line using intake manifold vacuum. After this depressurization is implemented, the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve will be closed.

2005 chevy 1500 silverado eng. light on ran code p0455 and p0449 how to fix the problem. and how much work it takes. thanks STEVE.

P0449 is the evap vent valve solenoid circuit malfuntion.
P0455 is an evap gross leak
Perhaps the gross leak code has to do with the vent valve. Find the vent valve. It should be near a rectangle evap canister. Maybe under the bed. The small vent line from the fuel tank will go to it. The solenoid is near the cansiter. With the key off the valve will be open. With the key on it should be closed. You may try disconnection the hose and blow through it with both key off and on and see if air will pass through. If the valve has died and is stuck open, that can be the huge leak.

If it is not the leak then a smoke machine should be used. Easier than searching the lines for bad o-rings, splits, or whatevers.

The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for the vent valve/solenoid in the evaporative emission control system.
