08 XC90 cranks but won't start. After several hours it starts right up. Towed to dealer twice, started ok numerous times with no codes. Can't trust it. 3.2 6 cyl.

check the engine oil level sensor and the oil pressure sensor. this can sometimes be the problem. if the ecu does not read oil or pressure it wont start, and there is no codes. just oil light wont go out on turning engine over.(that's for oil level) oil pressure the engine on turnover pushes the oil up to the sensore when ecu reads pressure from the sensor it turns on the rest of the ignition circuit and engine will start.

After changing the oil and filter, reset the monitor by proceeding as follows:

Turn ignition On, but do not start engine.

Fully depress and release accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.

If CHANGE ENGINE OIL lamp flashes for five seconds, this indicates system has reset.

On the 2011 silverado 1500 what causes the check engine light to come on simultaneously with the traction control light(and stays on),then the warnings flash first"service traction control", then,"ser

I know this sounds unrelated but, reset the light and tighten down the gas cap, or buy another gas cap.

I just helped a friend fix his truck that did everything you have stated. (However his was a Toyota)

Mazdaspeed 3 08 Traction control light on

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System

My service stabletrack keeps come on how to fix that

Hi there:

Your vehicle is equipped with StabiliTrak, which combines antilock brake, traction and stability control systems and helps the driver maintain directional control of the vehicle in most driving conditions.
Traction control activates when the controller senses wheel spin. StabiliTrak will selectively apply the brakes and reduce engine torque to help regain traction.

Stability control activates when the controller senses a discrepancy between your intended path and the direction the vehicle is travelling. StabiliTrak selectively applies braking pressure at any one of the vehicle's brakes to help guide the vehicle in the direction which you are steering.

When you first start your vehicle and begin to drive away, the system performs several diagnostic checks to insure there are no problems. You may hear or feel the system working. This is normal and does not mean there is a problem with your vehicle. If driving conditions delay system initialization, the STABILITRAK NOT READY message may be displayed. If this is the case, your vehicle does not need servicing.

When the StabiliTrak system is both on and actively controlling the stability of the vehicle, the StabiliTrak light will blink for the duration of the event.

You may also feel or hear the system working. This is normal.
StabiliTrak will turn off automatically if a problem is detected in the system. The StabiliTrak light will come on and SERVICE STABILITRAK will be displayed on the DIC. For vehicles without a DIC, the StabiliTrak light and the StabiliTrak service light will both come on. If the SERVICE STABILITRAK message (or StabiliTrak service light) does not clear itself after restarting the vehicle, you should see your dealer for service.

Hope this helps.

1994 Chevy silverado 6.5L turbo diesel: My oil pressure is between 40-60 for the first few miles on the road. then drops and seems to hold steady at around 40 while my foot is on the gas, then drops...

I'm not sure why you want to change the oil again. Your oil pressure numbers appear to be normal. Replace the oil cap if it's bad. You'll have to scan the ECM for codes to find out why the the check engine light comes on.

The check engine is on the traction control is on and the cruise control light is blinking

had the same problem a month ago. checked guide book, they said could be gas cap not closed properly, so checked that. no change. verified oil, realized had only a pint of oil left! concluded that using sportshift uses lots of oil, so will go easy on that now. its a goos suv, but not a sports car. All lights were off after a few starts the next morning. no problems since. When i went to dealer, he had no advice or idea a about that. All they know is show me the money !

VSC OFF, Check engine and traction control lights are on

I would suggest having your mechanic scan the computer for viable trouble codes. WIthout that information, it is hard to determine the exact cause of your problem.

However, my experiences with the Tundra leads me to suggest that you have a bad Mass Air Flow Sensor...A concise scan and any codes would alow us to really help you out a lot better.
