SOURCE: power steering is leaking 2002 Hyundai Sonata gls

Hey, I had that exact problem. While there's no gaurantee that your's is exactly the same, here's where I'd start looking. There are two exhaust manifolds, one in the foreward part of the engine and another on the rear of the engine. The one in the rear is harder to see and access but there is a power steering line that runs pretty close to it. Unfortunately there is a non-metal section (bend) fairly close to the manifold and over time the heat made the "rubber" brittle and it just cracked and leaked profusely. Clearly a design oversight, but not the most difficult fix. I took the old line out and matched it to a power steering line (actually for another application) I found (or should I say the salesman found). I cut it to length and reinstalled it. It's a pretty tight area to work in. Finally, I cut a piece of old garden hose 4 to 5 inches and split it lengthwise and put it over the new section to avoid the heat deterioration that caused the problem in the first place.
