SOURCE: 2003 Malibu won't start

If the theft light is not on, then it's not related to the security lock-out. This is classic fuel pump failure. If you don't hear the 2 second hum of the fuel pump when you turn the key, it has failed. If you hear it and you still have NO gas to the engine, it could be debris in the strainer or a severely clogged filter.

Check the vacum line to your fuel pressure regulator, the line may have a crack in it or the regulator may be bad.

SOURCE: Idles okay, runs rough when gas applied

Either a bad MAP sensor, or TPS. What is the code for the check engine light? This will most likely tell you what it is.

SOURCE: wont keep idle, car stalls out

I had this same problem on my 2005 monte carlo, took mechanic a while to figure out it was the idle air control valve. They also replace the idle air control motor.

It is more than likely the fuel pump. I had replaced mine a few years ago, and it was doing the same thing. It is located in the tank and fairly easy to replace.

Engine stalls

It could be your throttle position sensor. I had the opposite problem, idle was to high, changed sensor and problem was fixed.

Have 2000 malibu that idles to fast

Fast idle is often caused by a faulty TPS. Throttle Position Sensor. The computer is not able to determine exactly where the throttle is so it compensates by applying too much throttle automatically to avoid stalling the engine. Just went through this with a delivery truck at work that would run at 40 without touching the gas. Scary ride in a 2 ton truck.

Stalling at low idle

I don't know this specific car. But, if it has one, check your Idle Air Valve. This can cause the engine to stall. If you can hold the gas pedal and the engine will continue to run until you let off the gas, it is likely the IAV. It will not necessarily cause the engine to run rough. That could be a number of things like spark plugs, wires or dirty injectors. It could also be a compression problem. Is the check engine light on?

Removed battery post now car won't stay started how do I fix it 2003 es 300

All you need to do is hold your foot on the gas pedal to start and hold to keep engine running, hold gas pedal for about 3 minutes then let idle, computer needs to relearn the idle speed thats why it stalls out, hope this helps,

Car stalls in idle and only goes when you give it gas other wise it will stall

Sounds like a bad throttle positioning sensor. Does the check engine light come one? I'm willing to bet it's the throttle pos sensor. Go to Autozone and have them run the trouble code if the check engine light is on, it's free :-)

Engine stalls when foot not on gas pedal

sounds like a large vacuum leak to me possibly a bad mass airflow sensor but i would pinch off vacuum lines maybe spray a little carb spray around throttle body and intake area to try and locate any vacuum leaks

Car will not restart after running

If it turns over, but won't start when hot: first, change your air filter. 2. Check your engine ground connection. 3.Check for a loose connection in the ignition system 4. You could have a faulty idle control valve. 5 . Faulty coil, Mass air flow, idle control sensor... but you should have an engine light on if it's one of those.

2002ford truck explorer when i frist start my truck it will stall out a few times then wiil run good for awhile then for some reason stall out 3 or 4 times some times i can drive for 150 miles with no...

it sounds to me that you idle controll valve isnt responding (could be dirty) get a can of carb cleaner and clean the thottle body inside and with the engine running. squirt just a little and the engine will start to stall and the idle air controll will start to open ( you will hear it start sucking) then spray more in sperts try to keep the engine running at idle . this will make the engine RPM's change and open and close the idle controll valve thus cleaning it. when done save some carb spray. put the air cleaner hose back on. and start the engine and with the engine idling spray around the intake and base of throttle body if the rpms change you have a vaccume leak than will need to be repaired.
good luck
