Failure-to-start scenarios are often an issue of "fuel or spark?"
To check fuel pump, install a fuel pressure gauge on the Shrader valve connector on the
fuel rail, reading ???? - I couldn't find the spec for nominal fuel pressure.....
One good source of diagnostic info is your car's computer - commect an OBD-II code
reader to your car's OBD-II port and ask the car what it thinks it wrong - its capable of
posting 100s of possible error codes, any number of which would/could implicate a fuel
system component. Here a (very) short list of possible computer codes your car's computer
may currently be posting:
error code meaning

I don't work for Autozone.com - just convenient info for some cars.

SOURCE: 2006 Hummer H3 intermittenly wont start. Have to
Hi, my research on this issue has turned up phantom causes as sticking valves, ignition switch and seat movement.
On some Hummer, it turns out to be sticky valves in the head. GM replaced the head under warranty and the hummer haven't had any more trouble out of it. There is a recall for the 2006/2007 5 cylinder models and you should be able to have this taken care of at no cost.
Do you have a remote start?
The H3 Bypass module has an issue with Remote Start. When this happens to you must wait 10 full minutes before trying to start it again (DONT USE REMOTE, USE THE KEY) the bypass module takes 10 minutes to get out of "theft mode" this is in your manual as well, I forgot what page. The only way to get this to full proof work is to get a shop to "OLD SCHOOL" wire around the bypass module.
SOURCE: Replaced stock bcm with used.
A used body control can be used in a vehicle other than the vehicle it was installed in. the body control module when first installed is programmed with the vehicle vin number. the vin number can not be changed was it was written to the BCM. the oprions can be always change in the BCM but not the VIN number. basically the used bcm you have installed has the vin number from the vehicle was installed in, now the vin number in the used BCM doesnt match all the other control modules

SOURCE: My GMC sierra starts and dies in 1 second but
GM's are known for possessing faulty antitheft systems. When these systems being to fail, the antitheft misinterprets the failure as an attempt to steal the vehicle. The system then shuts off the injectors. The system resets after 10 minutes exactly. As the fault gets worse, this will happen more often. Next time this happens, note any lights that illuminate on the dash area. If you see one that says SECURITY or ANTITHEFT, this is most likely the problem. This link will help you.
