My Air Conditioner drain is clogged. Where is the drain located and how do I unclog it?
-- open the driver's door
-- locate where the air conditioner blower box is attached to the passenger side of the firewall - see photo #1 - look to the immediate right at the top of the gas pedal arm
-- condensation flows toward the front of the vehicle through the firewall at the leftmost edge of the air conditioner blower box - drain channel
-- open the hood and stand next to the front wheel on the driver's side
-- look down at the firewall over the battery and to the passenger side of the brake master cylinder - see photo My Air Conditioner Drain is plugged. Where is the - 245af63.jpgg src="/uploads/images/245af63.jpg" alt="245af63.jpg" class="h_mi" />
-- locate the small diameter metal lines running horizontally and attached to the engine compartment firewall
-- locate the hole in the engine compartment firewall panel behind the small diameter metal brake lines
-- this hole leads to the drain opening in the air conditioner blower box mounted in the passenger compartment
-- follow the brake lines as they run from under the vehicle and turn toward the front wheel on the driver's side
-- locate the hole in the engine compartment panel behind the brake lines
-- insert a short length of stiff wire into the hole through the engine compartment panel to unblock the drain hole
I actually found the hole but my problem is accessing it. I can stick the wire in the hole but can't get it inside the drain opening simply because I cannnot see it. I've tried a mirror only to discover it was too dark to see inside the hole. I can feel the drain with my finger, a bit of water even drip out. Is there no other way to access this?
this is a good answer to the question. But its missing the final piece. The AC drain opening is NOT straight back! The AC drain hole opening is off center from the hole in the firewall and a couple of inches behind the opening. Aim your stiff wire slightly to the drivers side and a little down. about 1/4 inch each. Keep trying.

The drain is located on the rear lower firewall. Use compressed air to blow back into the drain or remove the dash and airbox and clean.
Answer #1 is very good. But it's missing a key piece. The AC drain hole opening is NOT straight back from the opening in the firewall. I had the same problem in my 2008 Endeavor.
The drain hole opening is off center; it's slightly to the drivers side and slightly down and a couple of inches behind the opening in the firewall. From memory, I would estimate about a quarter inch over and quarter inch down.
I used one of those "As seen on TV" sink drain clog cleaners that has the velcro like material on the end. it worked very well.
Just another note, its easiest to reach the opening if you safely put the front tires on ramps or put the driver's side tire up on the street curb to get some ground clearance, then get underneath the car.
Also once you get into the AC drain opening and push through the blockage of leaves/twigs/ etc prepare to get wet. A gallon of water at least must have drained out when I cleared the drain in my car.
Good luck. Hope this helps you.
SOURCE: Where do I find the air conditioner drain tube
the tube is located on the passenger side firewall you can see it from under the car where you will have to be when you clean it out with either blowing air into it or clean it out with a coat hanger. just becareful not to push to far inside so you don't poke a hole into the evaporator. Hope this helps leave a comment. By the way it is usually a little rubber tube hanging out of the fire wall.
