If the Airbag light is on then unless the battery was disconnected you have a fault in the Airbag system and the control module turned on the warning light. There is no reset for a fault, you must read the code with a scan tool and repair the problem and then the light will go out.
when a deployment occur . You need to change both air bag module, change SDM (supplemental deployment module)
need to change the SIR coil Inside column steering and the front discriminating sensor.
Befor installing you need to remove the SIR fuse or disconnect battery
no reset needed
The airbag module is a serious safety device and should not be tampered with. The entire air bag system ie module , air bags, seat belt tensioners etc are treated as one unit and there fore not a serviceable item or part replacement there of. The module should be located in the bowels of the dashboard (yellow wiring ) and mounter to the bulkhead. Do NOT tamper or adjust any componants.Good luck
you may not always have to replace sensors, but you will have to change the airbag module (usually under front seat, sometimes in middle of dash) To remove the passenger airbag you have to take out the dash.
it is positioned in the very centre of the dash board, behind the radio/Air con unit, it is bolted to the floor, you will need to remove the dash board and possibly the air con unit to access. once the module and air bags have been replaced it shouldnt need anything else.
