I have a 1991 Montero 4x4 LS, was running perfectly, then just shut off, Fuel pump needed to be replaced. Now I am getting no spark replaced the coil, and still no spark. What else could it be?

New fuel pump, relay, and coil. Still no spark. The truck was running perfectly, then just shut down. What would cause there to be no spark after changing the coil?

Have a 1991 bonneville le has to sit for a few hours before it will restart

You may need to check fuel pressure after the engine warms up and shuts off. Maybe the fuel pump gets hot and stops. Have you checked for spark after it dies?

sounds like canada or USA car, is it?
i just restored one, know it like back of hand.
no inertial switch, of any kind, no upside down car switch. like my mazda either. and that cuts fuel not spark.'

want to trouble shoot it or guess and go broke?
no spark, clear as day, and the ECU cuts fuel with no spark.
so forget fuel. totally.
ready to fix spark?
and you said no spark but failed to say,
at the coil or all 5 places. big deal that....

the ECU will talk to you, and tell you why, 1/2 the time.
is your tachometer dead, cranking> 4x4 have tach.
and will move to 0.3K rpm that is 3/10s of below 1 mark.
the 1 means 1000, so 3ths is 300 rpm. cranking. does it?
if not the ECU will throw,,no spark codes, 2nd clue.
what to learn?
http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/no-spark.html

first check for spark that the ignition coil. center tower.
how:
in 1991,in the USA the spark creation changed, radically
the ECU generates park, in this way.
CMP in dizzy makes cam signal (there is no crank trigger in 91)
the CMP makes perfect square way
the ECU sees that. and triggers the ignitor
the ignitor charges the coil, and spark happens at the coil tower.
does yours?

if the eCU sees a missing CMP signal you get code 41.
if the ecu sees missing spark read back, code 42
you must crank for 5 seconds release the key to see codes of this type.,class.
do you know how to use the diagnostic jumper paper clip yet.

When I accelerate my 91 4x4 blazer cuts out. put in new fuel filter and coil pack because spark was slow. is my next step a fuel pump?

Fuel Pump? Just keep trying things?

Do you have fuel pressure at the engine
& what is it?

Spark was low? (weak?) How was that tested?

1991 montero misfire and not idling correctly, why?

bad gas could have clogged the filter, fuel pump screen, or injectors, other that that check the distributor, plug wires, and spark plugs to ensure they are getting spark. if all thats fine then look at the timing, and if all else fails investigate the sensors
