There is one sensor and several solenoids. The temperature sensor is the only sensor. The rest are solenoids. To replace the temp sensor, you have to remove or replace the valve body, depending on your expertise.

it is in the valley of engine behind intake.at back of engine you can get it out with a thin walled oil sender socket.

not necessary. that sensor only has 2 or 3 wires and the pigtail will only plug in one way

I have a 2000 chevy tahoe and transmission will not shift out of second gear.

make sure your transmission fluid level not low if fluid level okay. other possible causes for transmission wont shift out of second could have stuck or faulty first and second shift valve.code scan for faulty VSS SPEED SENSOR.

There is no such part as a shift sensor, so I assume you mean the computer controlled shift solenoids. They are inside the transmission attached to the hydraulic control valve body, to access remove ****** pan.

If you have the experience you can remove the transmission and rebuild it or you can take it to a trans tech and get an estmate for the rebuild > after the estimate you can call some bone yards and see how much they would want for a used transmission with a warranty> you can also go online and get a price for a bebuilt with a warranty.
