SOURCE: 2004 ford explorer heating

Check the heater control valve, when u switch to heating mode, this valve is supposed to open, allowing hot engine coolant into the heater core under the dash, it is not opening the valve, the clicking is the sound from it attempting to open the valve.

SOURCE: 2003 Ford Explorer is knocking and blowing cold air when I turn the knob to the heat

The blend door (mode door ) is a very common issue there is even an associated TSB t(technical service bulletin) it has to do with the blend door becoming warped and binding the accuator. In an opened or semi-closed position

SOURCE: 2004 F150 Heater Vent Selector Problem

The "blend door" or "mode selector door" is stuck. Common problem with Fords. Most auto repair places can fix it. I had mine done at Firestone.

SOURCE: Vent control

You have a vacuum leak.Defrost is the default postion(no vacuum).
See if you can locate the small black vacuum line that goes inside the vehicle on the passenger side near the heater core. The trace it back, should see it going to a canister then to the intake manifold.Make sure it is not disconnected or broken somewhere.

SOURCE: PROBLEM WHEN SELECTING THE DIRECTION FOR THE AIR

Sounds like you have a supply vacuum problem. When you lose supply vacuum to the control head it defaults to defrost.

Have a 2000 ford explorer v8 and when i try to turn the ac on it wouldnt tryed the heat and its the same thing but the weird part is that it comes on in the back do you know what could be the problem

You most likely have a problem with the door that diverts air either over the cold AC evaporator core or the over the heater core, it is called the blend door, it is a common issue in the Explorer along with the AC condenser leaking (in front of radiator). to repair it you must remove the entire dash assembly for access. I assume that the compressor is running when you have the AC on but no cold air is coming out the dash vents? Let me know if that is not the case and I can assist more, was a Ford dealer technician for 25 years and did 100's of these..

There could be cold air coming in because the air vent is not closing properly when it is suppose to close.

How do you find a fuse box for a 2007 mercury milan

under dash to the left of the brake pedal, there is another fuse block in the engine compartment, but ur problem is most likely the blower speed control (located by the blower motor), possibly blower motor or the blend door acuator which blends the warm and cold air it is usualy deep in the dash in the air box. check prices on parts and shoot acordingly some parts are pricy( no need to spend $200
bucks when its a fuse) best of luck!

No heat or cold air will come out of my2004 Mitsubishi Galant. I took off the dash panel behind the glove box to get to the Blend Door Motor, but after turning the air from hot to cold at various speeds,...

Does the air blows through the dash board vents. Does the selector is functional, that means you can force the air stream through wind shield, or vents or down to the legs. If these things are OKthen check CONTROL PANEL.
Remove the trim plate surrounding the center instrument panel. Detach the electrical connectors and remove the control panel.

Ac blows hot air ac compressor is ice cold but the vents blow hot air when enige is hot. bloows cold air when engine is cold

check your air diverter doors, sounds like the door for heat is open, when a/c is selected the doors should move and close the heater off. the heater will over power the a/c. the door controller is located on the environmental station under the dash neat to the floor. the control is electronic and probably not functioning
