SOURCE: 2003 FORD TAURUS 3.0 VIN S LOST INJECTOR PULSE,

Hello
Have you run the OBD2 electronic engine control fault code test? both the of the tests must be done and the result's diagnosed, that is the key on engine off test (KOEO) and the key on engine running test (KOER) as well. How have you confirmed the injector pulse is lost? each injector has its own driver in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), the injector grounds the injectors to open them in the proper sequence, it is the same as the firing order of the spark plugs. To confirm loss of injector pulse you use a little tool known as a "NOID", they can be bought at any good auto parts store for about $5.00, they contain a little light that flashes when the injector pulse is present, it plugs into the harness connector at each injector. Each injector shares the same Battery (+) circuit and is powered off of a fuse and it in turn is powered off the ignition starter switch.

Getting no injector pulse in my 1991 ford escort.

Do you have power going to the injector ? And do you have spark to the plugs ? The computer uses the crank signal from the distributor to know when to fire the injector.

Why does the fuel injector receive no pulse for 1998 ford explorer 4.0 motor

The 6 cyclinder motor has 6 fuel injectors. If your not getting pulse Electrical grond to an injector wire theirs a likly chance your not getting it at another. If your getting no pulse at all the engine won't run. Does the check engine light on with the engine running? What meadod did you determine that it had no pulse? Remove one injector wire one at a time with the engine running? If it's not running at all then the no pulse can be a common system part like the crank senser. Does the engine get spark? Most of the time pulse and spark are hand in hand so if the crank senser were bad it's not going to have s[ark either.

Looking for wiring schematics for 1995 chev kodiak 6500.need to trace wiring.. i have no ground to ground side of coil.intake heater is fine. need help

the coil receives power all the time with key on, the ground side is toggled to make the coil spark, you shouldn't be able to detect ground unless its running and if you do ground it while running you will find it will die. the pickup coil, and ignition module in the distributor control the spark, and injector pulse, if it won't spark, and its the origional distributor, I usually just replace the whole thing with a reman from carquest, napa, etc, usually 100 to 150 with exchange, its cheaper than replacing the separate parts, and all new you can't go wrong. this is a common problem with any mid 90's gm v8

Firing Order diagram for 2006 Ford Explorer

Hope this helps. The ignition coil:
  • changes low-voltage pulses from the PCM to high-voltage pulses.
  • fires 2 spark plugs simultaneously.
  • has 3 transformers.
    • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 1 and 5
    • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 2 and 6
    • One transformer fires the spark plugs for cylinders 3 and 4
Spark plug wires:
  • carry high-voltage pulses from the ignition coil to the spark plugs.
The spark plugs:
  • change high-voltage pulses to spark at the gap, which ignites the fuel and air mixture.
The firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6.

Cranks but will not start.

You need to verify fuel injector pulse and fuel pressure. then verify ignition spark.
Possible causes are the fuel pump, cam or crank sensor, Anti Theft system.

1990 gmc 6500 topkick with no spark or injector pulse. all 4 wires on the ignition coil have battery voltage with key on. is coil shorted or is the ignition module bad?

You are jumping to conclusions. Slow down.
No spark AND no injector pulse indicates none of the desired outputs were triggered. The ignition module makes spark when it receives a crankshaft position sensor signal, and then transfers control of that spark to the computer after it starts. The module takes its crank sensor signal and generates an RPM count that it forwards to the PCM(main computer) which is used for triggering the injectors and controlling timing. SO, if you had a bad crank sensor OR a bad ignition module, you could lose both spark AND fuel. a coil would not disable injector pulse. modules RARELY fail in a manner that disables RPM reference to the computer causing it to not fire the injectors...At this point, I would TEST the crank sensor as the next step. If its easier, 1 of the wires on the module goes directly there so you can test the crank sensor at the module.
