May I offer a suggestion, if you are not a mechanic on transmission take it and get it repaired. The speed sensors are in the transmission, you will have to take the oil pan off then valve body but first drain the fluid then you will have a internal or input sensor then a output sensor [speed] if you are not familiar you could cost major cost of repairs hope this helps and Good Luck Mike L

DTC P0716: Input Speed Sensor Performance
DTC P0717: Input Speed Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
The automatic transmission input speed sensor (ISS) is a permanent magnet with a coil of wire wound around. The ISS mounts in the case cover facing the reluctor wheel of the input shaft. As the reluctor wheel is driven by the turbine shaft, an AC signal is induced in the input speed sensor. Higher vehicle speeds induce a higher frequency and voltage at the sensor. There is a fixed air gap between the sensor and the teeth on the sensor reluctor wheel. The ISS input is used by the transmission control module (TCM) in order to control line pressure, torque converter clutch (TCC) apply and release, and transmission shift patterns. This sensor is also used to calculate the appropriate gear ratios and TCC slippage. This diagnostic indicates stuck, erratic, or intermittent conditions in the system.
Diagnostic Aids
• Road test the vehicle while monitoring the Transmission ISS parameter on the scan tool. The Transmission ISS parameter should vary with engine speed changes and not abruptly drop out.
• Inspect for an open or shorted AT ISS wire.
• Inspect for a disconnected AT ISS connector.
• Inspect for a faulty AT ISS.
What is the problem you are having ? Could tell you if your on the right track . which transmission does your's have
Automatic Transaxle - 4T45-E
Automatic Transmission - 5AT
There is a VSS - vehicle speed sensor an Output Speed Sensor on the out side also .An there is one inside the transmission .
The input shaft speed sensor .
The input shaft speed sensor is located on the side of the transmission by where the engine "inputs" power to the transmission (via torque converter), thus rotating the input shaft.
The output speed sensor is located by where the axles attach to the transmission, and measures the speed that the transmission "outputs" to the axles (which make the wheels turn) and that data is also used for your speedometer reading.
