Its probably ok but I would recommend 10w30 for anything with more than 100,000 miles on the odometer.
Also, 5w30 works better in colder temps, the first number is the "cold thickness" and the second number is the "hot thickness". The bigger the number the thicker the oil in basic terms.

SAE is the rating of the viscosity of an oil.. So its the code that comes after the letters "SAE" that's important.. For instance my car requires "SAE 5W-20" oil. It's the 5W-20 part that is important.

use SAE 5W-30 motor oil in cold climents, in warmer climets ( temp. stays above 50 F year around ) you can use SAE 15W-30 or SAE 20W-50 engine oil.
