I recently obtained a Land Rover Discovery and was told the battery needed replaced in the key fob. I replaced the battery in the key fob and have enabled the alarm but unable to disable the alarm. I was told an EKA may work, but I am unable to configure which way is lock and unlock. I called my local dealer and was told to bring it in to have it looked at. Closest one is almost 2 hours away. Help.

Does it open from the outside once you have manually opened it from the inside.
SOURCE: how to program a keyless entry for land rover
MOST OF THE TIME WHEN YOU HAVE PROBLEMS IN THE REMOTE AND KEYLESS ENTRY.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO REPROGRAM IT.BUT FIRST CHECK ALL THE FUSES AND RELAYS.IF THEY ARE OKAY.THEN DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX.
Testimonial: "very good feedback."

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.
SOURCE: transfer case oil change- 1999 Land Rover Discovery II
No need for a diagram, to drain the oil, there's a drain plug on the bottom of the transfer box, under the handbrake drum. To fill, the fill plug is about in line with the centre of the handbrake drum and to the left. I think both plugs are 1/2" square. Fill to overflow with Texaco Multi-Gear 75W/90R. Takes about 2L or so.
