Car runs raggedy then shuts itself off. When trying to restart it, the starter clicks but wont start while the interior lights are dim as there is a loss of power and battery dies immediately
Dash gauges or warning lights?
any/either illuminated?
Never been a fan of removing cable for test, always relied on test equipment...
Do you have access to a volt meter?
Get the car started. Pull the negative cable off the battery. If it dies, replace the alternator.
Sounds like an alternator problem.
SOURCE: car wont start
Battery is to weak to turn it over or the silsnoid is gone on the starte or the whole starter is shot.Have you tried to boost it?
SOURCE: Dim interior lights, power locks wont work......
Try looking at your battery. Check the cables to make sure they are tight and clean. Brush the corrosion off with a wire brush. Now, if you have a wiring schematic, find the ground for the interior lights and clean it up too. Oh, put vasoline on it, and the battery cables, to keep them corrosion free. Check the other grounds in the car cabin too.
SOURCE: went to get gas, shut car off and removed keys.
Did you clean in the ing. lock cyl. Maybe pocket lint or something blocking.
