There are 2 bolts according to the GM service site. One on the side and one on the bottom of the tail gate. You will need to remove the tail gate to access the bottom bolt. Good Luck

pull the plastic plate of once off take the metal plat off once off reach in and pull the rods to open the gate and with the gate half way opened pull the right side out the hinge
Disengage the cable on the right and left sides from the striker bolts. To accomplish this, pull up on the middle of the cable assembly while raising the gate to a 45 degree angle, but be careful not to pinch the cable between the gate and bed.
Remove the tailgate from the vehicle by lifting upward on the left side to separate the left hinge assembly, then disengage the right hinge.
To install:
Install the gate to the vehicle by lowering the right hinge assembly into position first, then holding the gate at a 45 degree angle and seating the left hinge assembly.
Engage the left and right cables to the striker bolts.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the hood to replace the hood hinges. Hood hinges can be replaced one at a time.
1. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hood hinge on the hood and body for the hinge being serviced. 2. Support the hood and disconnect the support cylinder from the hood.
3. Remove the bolts that secure the hood hinge to the hood . 4. Remove the bolt that secures the hood hinge to the front fender.
There was a recall on window hinges for some models of Explorers. This was a safety recall and should not expire. Your vehicle may have been missed and they can run the VIN# to see if your model was included.
If no luck you may be able to get a glass shop to do it cheaply or go to a Salvage yard and get your parts there. Plus you can learn how it comes off on the Salvage part.
First chk the seals and see if there is a gap. If there is, you may have to ajust the hinges. Loosen the hinge bolts and. Do not remove them . Leave them loose enough to push the top in with the windoe down and latched. Then push the wind inward. Then carefully open the window and tighten two bolts on each hinge. Then ck the closing and alighment. If still needs more then repeat process but leave the bolts a litlle more snug so when you move it, it will stay untill you get the bolts tight. Good Luck, -Ned-

disconnect tailgate stop cables
open tailgate normally...but stop when you are nearly halfway down (45 degree angle to ground).
now, pull tailgate away from bottom pivot (hinge) pin on either the left or right side of tailgate. This should allow both hinge pins to be free from the rest of truck.
