Check the input shaft and output shaft speed sensors on the transmission. One is likely bad.

Will a 2004 2.7 litre motor out of a Dodge Stratus run and work in a 2002 Chrylser Sebring 2.7? both have sameengine codes

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup so I have had some experiences (mostly bad) with Dodge electronic ignition systems.
I have no specific knowledge about a Sebring or Stratus but as someone who has been working on cars and trucks for the better part of 40 years I'll make a guess that the computer control module in the Sebring is different than the CCM in a Stratus that is a two year newer model. Since you are dealing with engines from 2 different year models there were likely some (maybe minor) changes to the electronic ignition system over the two years. If the wiring harness connectors for the CCM in the Sebring and Stratus are identical I would move the CCM from the Stratus into the Sebring and see if the Stratus engine will then fire. Some questions to consider:
1. Was the Stratus engine running OK before you removed it from the Dodge?
2. Are you sure all electrical connections are correct (and complete) after installing the Dodge engine in the Sebring?

I have a 2000 Dodge stratus that won't change

Do the old additive method before you give up....................add one and a half cans of `Sea Foam TRANSMISSION TREATMENT' to it and follow directions. Sometimes that can of stuff is AMAZING! don-ohio

My car wouldn't shift into 2 gear so I had it parked until I figures what was wrong with it. I finally got an idea and replaced the in and out sensors but now when I place it in drive or low gears it...

Dodge you cant just replace input and output, youll need to perform a trans relearn and a battery quick disconnect and input the the tire size to the ECM or transmodule, also this might be coinicdent but you idle air control may not be working.

Can a speed senser on the trans. make your car serge. this is on 2002 dodge stratus with a 2.4 liter engine.

NO / IF THE INPUT OR OUTPUT SPEED SENSORS WERE DEFECTIVE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS .

96 dodge stratus tranmission will not shift into high gear

Have you run a test for trans trouble codes, sounds like a shift solenoid has failed or a defective connection to the trans from the control module.
