A/c will only blow from the floor vent, and will not blow from the dash vents. When you crank the car you hear a ticking sound coming from behind the dash . The floor on passenger side stay wet.
Sounds like two problems. the ticking sound is probably a broken blend door stop. the wet floor is probably a bad heater core, both require dash removal.

Which vents, floor--defrost--dash? Can you hear the blower motor running? The squirrel cage could have broken loose from blower motor? There could be an actuator problem under the dash? If actuators are vacuum controlled and vacuum is lost, it might default to defrost, only blow out defrost vents.
This sounds a lot like a door actuator it is locate behind the radio part od the dash when you switch the vents like to the floor upper dash do you hear a clicking sound? put your ear to the middle of the dash where the switch to the heat / cool is and listen for the clicking sound when you change the vents direction. If you do it's the vent actuator you will have to remove the face part of the vent and it's in behind that it is usually a white plastic box it may be black but most are white. The cost is about 90 to 120 Canadian dollars.
Hope this helps good luck.
There is a blend door acuator which moves when u change your settings. Its a electric motor. Down under dash, Will need a mech and a heating and cooling diagram to find where the motor is,
Check vaccume lines under hood / rotted & under dash listen for air sounds. switch on dash may also have a leak. when switching do you hear movement of vent doors..
When you turn the dial to the floor vents, do you hear anything. You should hear a flap or something move after the dials been turned. There's a flap (direction control) just above the blower behind the passenger side dash. This directs the air to where it's supposed to go. It sounds like yours may have come loose
From what I hear it is a vacuum line issue. Mine is doing the exact same thing. So, I am going to get a diagram and try checking the vacuum lines to see if any are loose or tore
I go under the dash and feel the air flowing out the floor and it is coming out of the defrost, also. I noticed under the drivers side today that air is flowing and there seems to be a gap in between a part under there. There was some material stuff I saw around the edge of it that sticky brown stuff and it sometimes before came out my vents all the time. Anyways, not sure if my air is just not sealed good to blow out the vents but it is something that happened not long ago and we've not done anything under our dash area.
