Hi joe again if the wires are damaged could you stll open with the switch inside the car

Joe, its not the latch , its the sensor/switch that recognizes if the trunk is open or closed. It might be on the latch..??,, look around the trunk area where it meets the gasket.. you will see the switch or sensor somewhere..not sure where this particular unit is located..

Hi. Try : unlock the car ( push open 3 times) open doors from outside ( make sure they unlocked) switch child lock to lock position and back to open. Pull again on the handle after you switch before you close the door. Let me know if it helped.

Sounds like the plastic clip that connects the mechanism together may have been damaged. Or the wiring harness was damaged i. The door. Depends on the car and how it's made

Check wiring where door flexes. copper wires repeated bending can break.
Overload breaker points stuck - is inside motor.
Burned smell - replace motor.
Bad door switch - my rear window would freeze shut. trying top open would damage switch. Mine was driver door master switch.

Sounds like there is a problem with the master switch on the left front door

Sounds like the Ignition switch wasn't the problem, check your fuse links at starter, they are soft fuseable wire that will burn if shorted or even when they get old over time they will go bad. they are the smaller like #10-12 ga. wire , should be at least 1 maybe 2 of them at harness connection to starter.

That is either bad contacts inside of the master window switch on the driver side door, and you can actually take apart those old switches and clean up the contacts with an emery board type finger nail file, or the problem will most likely be a broken wire(s) inside of the weather boot that runs between the driver side door and the body of the vehicle. Try turning the ignition to the "Run" position and then move the weather boot between the door and the body of the vehicle around while at the same time holding a window switch down in the direction that you want the window to move, and if the window does work while moving around the weather boot then there is a damaged wire(s) that will need to be repaired, and any wires that you find broken should be soldered back together and do not use wire connectors to repair the wires. (However, if the wires are too far apart inside of the weather boot then this test will not show any results) and if there is no damage to the wires at the wire connector to the master window switch, then the wires leading from the master window switch out through the door and the weather boot will have to be inspected thoroughly for any damaged wires.
