How do you turn the headlights off on a2004 tracker

Better if done by garage with an aiming board, but some help here.

Jul 15, 2014 - OK, just picked up a 2000 DX hatch, automatic. Stock interior everything except previous owner changed gear selector stick with an aftermarket .

Check your accessories fuse...

You would need to use a meter or test light to find out if you have power going thru the headlight switch and thru the dimmer switch.

They are behind the headlight.

I am not familar with your headlights but thewre are two basic types of headlights. The first is when you just replace a bulb. To do this you open the hood and look at the back of th eheadlight. There may be a area with wires running up to it that twists or pops off. The other style is where the complete headlight is replaced. In this situation there should be a series of screws that hold a thin metal frame over the headlight. Every car is different. On my toyota truck I have to pull the grill before I can get to the screws that hold the metal frame that holds the headlights on. You might pick up a haynes manual from autozone (about $20 usually) for your vehicle but a headlight replacement is usually not something they show because it is usually very straight forward. You could go to autozone and ask them what type of headlight replacement you need. If they sell you a bulb then it is replaced from under the hood. If they sell you a complet headlight then it is replaced from the outside. You can ask them to show you what needs to be done and if you get a good guy or gal, they will show you.

theres up and down arrows on the bottom right hand corner of the radio when held in for a few seconds it starts to change the time..

The lights will turn on automatically in a minute or so after you start the vehicle. Their on all the time, when motor is running. To turn on manually ( I have a tracker) left switch (turn signal switch) turn nob on end of switch also to change from bright to dim pull turn switch towards driver gently.

just takes a volt meter to find the voltage drop point.

top fails:
1: corroded fuse box on right front finder (under fuse box)
2: did you say it kills motor too. cant figure above.

what about heater fan, it uses tons of current.
as does HL followed by tails.

20amps, 15amps and 5amps respectively

you have resistance some where.
and load , kills the voltage .

for me.
i'd:
check battery voltage , when it dims out.
then of ok 12.5v is ok key on,not started.
then check voltages at a right fender , fuse panel
all points there, 12.5vdc , same as battery v.
if OK
then
check voltage at the fuse above right knee
with load full, hl, fan, brakes, just key on.

now you know what circuit is fail ing by now.
