Dies and wont restart. 1991 bmw 750il

Have the wiring to the starter checked and tightened. Seems as though the starter has become heat soaked, binds and does not start until it has cooled down..did you install it correctly replace any heat shield that may have been in place? Be sure you have the correct starter...Some will fit but if the torque if not correct it can put strain on the starter.

You need to test the electronics for fault codes, to do this follow the instructions here.

The EGR valve will not opon when the engine warms up so that is why it dies out

try fuel filter first

have your bmw dealers check switch it might need to be replace.

Does the car seem to run ok untill it dies ? if yes it sounds like the ignition module

need more inform if you hear the startor turn over the engine when the car wont start

Its the distributor module. The module in the dist. that tells the plugs to fire. When it gets hot it shuts down till it gets cool again. Had that same problem on several cars.
