Iac or tps could be a oxygen sensor also.

if you didn't put stabil in the fuel tank, i hope you drained it or ran it out of fuel ,- the petrol we get at stations shelf life is about two and a half months then it starts to gel and smell real rank so if the motor is turning over the fuel may have clogged up the injectors, HOPE THIS HELPS

It's probably your valves. Are you using premium (super) unleaded? That is what BMWs require.

Your BMW has a twenty-two year old battery in the instrument cluster. There are also some 16 or more low-voltage inputs at the back of it that come from many different sensors. My suspicions point to the batteries when the total mileage of the vehicle tends to blink off. My suspicions point to a tired speed sensor as a second failure. The speed sensors on that car point straight through the bell housing at the ring gear on the intake side of the engine. A way to diagnose it easily, would be to heat the speed and top dead center sensors (because they are right next to each other) with a heat gun or hair dryer on a cold morning to see if that wakes them up. The other standard test is to slap the dash just above the instrument cluster. If the minute amount of current that signals the instrument cluster to do it's job is slightly corroded or dirty , it won't receive a signal. That slap very well may cause them to jump alive. this can be caused by either a defective connection to the transmission control shift solenoids at the transmission case or a defective transmission control module (TCM), without duplicating the problem it is imposs to say which is at fault

most likely but it is 20 yrs old ,ask a local mecahnic to confirm and if it is buy a new car

Yes, you can change it yourself. Just go to a Junkyard and get another one off another BMW of the same model or you could go to the BMW Dealer and order a new one. You should be able to change it with basic hand tools, Before you diconnect anything associated with the Fuel System, make sure you relieve the pressure in the fuel system first, by unscrewing the gas cap and leaving the cap loose.

it sounds like you have a shorted door lock actuator, simply replace the lock that is not working with a new unit.
or
Your door lock problem is more than likely due to pin switch (door switch) that is either out of adjustment or is faulty.

Open the trunk. Take out the trunk lid light - take the bulb out of the fixture. Place a 12 volt battery in the trunk. Take an alligator clip jumper wire - connect one end to the negative terminal of the battery and the other end of the jumper wire to the car chassis - make sure it is a good connection and is not on a painted surface - place it on a bolt on the rear light panel. Take another alligator clip jumper wire and connect one end to the 12 volt positive terminal and connect the other end to the short end of the light connectors (there are two connectors for the light - one is short and one is long). This should give you enough voltage to unlock the doors.

Try putting new plugs and wires in. Just because the coils are good doesn't mean you are getting spark. If you know you have fuel then I would put new plugs in.

drop the gas tank and get it cleaned out, also replace the screen on the fuel pump, your gas tank is full of debris and its restricting the fuel pump from picking up the gas. also, dont buy **** gas, those higher performance cars run better and last longer if you use 91 octane or better, it just burns cleaner.

You have a cam or crank sensor that has gone out.

There will be two. Water in and water out. They will come off the engine somewhere and go into the passenger cabin through the firewall. I would check on the passenger side of the firewall as that is probably where the heater core is located.

theres always a reset button,its real tiny,if not that they might have knocked a wire loose,when fixing ac
