Check your brake light bulbs. remove them and check to see if the 2 contacts are touching eachother.

Why do my tail lights work but my drake lights dont?

First thing to check is the switch located on the brake pedal. It should be mounted under the dash and when the pedal arm moves it should push in a plunger, check for proper arm adjustment and check the wires to see if they have been loosened.

Brake Lights not working

The brake pedal switch on most cars or trucks is near the top of the brake pedal assembly where it pivots under the dash. As you move the pedal it releases the switch.

I have a 2001 toyota corolla. The brake lights do not work, i changed the fuse & the brake switch. The lights still don't work, what else could it be?

Have you checked the switch for power? get a cheap test light and you should have power on one side of the switch all times. If you dont it will be a supply fault eg fuse, fusable link. does every thing else work, intieror lights, clock, haz, horn. if you have power on it check other side of switch when pressing brake padal, if so ceck for power at lamps with pedal pressed. if so check for correct type lamp or an eath problem. see how you go...
