How to remove a fuel filter in a carburetor 1984 pontiac parisienne? V8 Gasoline
Acording with 1984 PONTIAC PARISIENNE 5.0L 4BL OHV 8CYL - REPAIR GUIDE, This system incorporates a bleed in the pressure regulator which automatically relieves pressure any time the engine is turned off, but a small amount of fuel may be released when the fuel line is disconnected. To reduce the chance of personal injury, cover the fuel line with a shop cloth to collect the fuel, and then place the cloth in an approved container. The Fuel Filter is located under hood, center, upper engine area, mounted in fuel inlet line connected to carburetor.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate
your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about
this answer.Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice weekend.

The fuse is always the first thing to check when you have a problem. It does no good to change the bulb and find out that it was a fuse. I would try to change the fuse first. If that does not work, you can try to change the bulb. I would run down to an autoparts store and tell them what problems you are having. They should be able to provide you with a fuse or check the fuse for you. If that still does not work, the bulb needs to be changed. Hope this helps! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have.
Transmissions leaks a lot grey
coming from the tail pipe?if so replace the transmission modulator valve, it's located on teh side of your transmission, BUT before you do that, make sure the vacum line to the modulator valve is'nt clogged!!sorry, that just occured to me. is the transmission leaking red fluid in front or the rear of it at all? that could be a bad seal if from front or rear.transmission i know front wheel drives, if leaking one side to other side, bad axle seal, depending on which side, if leaking in middle, between motor and transmission, bad front seal.,my firm advice, check all vacum lines leading to transmission.hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

1984 pontiac parisienne how to replace ignition
The ignition switch is on top of the steering column. You will have to remove the trim piece under the steering column and then loose the 2 bolts (1/2 inch) that holds the steering column. Watch your shift ind if it starts to move you will have to unhook ( silver or black clip with a small cable attached to it). Make sure you unhook the battery and block the wheels to keep the car from rolling. The switch uses the same bolts and the dimmer switch. Remove old switch and install new switch.

It should be a bolt-in. Check the overall length of the new transmission against the length of the old one. Sometimes the tail shaft can be different lengths and that may mean you will need a different driveshaft. If the difference is an inch or less you should be okay. Hope this helps.
How to tune up a carburator
the 2 air screws on front need to be adjusted with it running for best results but start at 1 and a half turns out on ea side then start the engine and turn the screws out till you hit maximum rpm and repeat on other side when the engin is at the max rpm there set, done while on idle .2 bbl / 4 bbl / ? they both will have a needle and seat to regulate the fuel coming in make sure there clean and functioning , make sure the float floats in gas and doesnt sink . make sure the main metering jets are operating and cleaned out good and not sticking either .some carbs have a paper filter in front you need a big wrench to undo ,change the filter or discard if theres a good 1 in the line already.
How to take out the radio
This is what Chilton has. Disconnect the battery first. Remove the upper trimplate. Remove the radio trimplate by removing the top 2 screws, the ashtray assembly, the lighter and the ashtray bracket. Remove the 2 radio screws and pull the radio out. Detach the electrical connectors.Hope thishelps.
