Orange check light on my dash flashes while driving.
I have a check light in the center of my dash that flashes. It stops when I step on the brakes then starts to flash again and stays on all the time I'm driving.

That orange light means that you must have your braking system check...most probably it's the pads wear indicators that are earthing warning you that the pads are worn.

Usually this is a short in one of the sockets that holds the bulb, your brake lights are back feeding power causing your turn indicators to glow on dash when you hit the brakes and will stop the turn signal from flashing when you step on the brake pedal also. Start with sockets on rear and look for any shorted or blackened socket ends.
Look under the dash by the parking brake and try to see if any wires are being moved or chafed by the parking brake linkages. That is what I have found in the past.
have you checked the bulbs?. my next step would be to test for power at the brake light switch and then step on the pedal and see if power flows through on to the other side of connector, if it does then we know theres power and switch is working good, my next move would be to step on the pedal and have someone watch the brake lights and then with pedal pushed turn 4way flasher on and off and see if the lights lite up for brakes and then wiggle the signal light lever and see if the lights come on, if the brake lights come on when any of these steps are done then you have a bad signal switch, if this does nothing then i would look under the dash and locate the harness wiring from signal switch to it junction, this will be a block of wires held together with a center bolt, wiggle wires while on the brake, i have seen the power wire for the brake lights burn inside connecter, and last would be to check the wiring going to lights inside the truck, good day, hope this helps.
You may have a defective turn signal switch, all these circuits run through the switch and on occasion I have repaired a Ford or Two with this same symptom when I was working for a dealer in the middle 80's.
The orange light is probably the pads wear indicator showing that the pads are worn out and the cutting out probably you need your car serviced and tune.
