The driver seat for my 1988 325 coupe is broken.
Yes, it is a common problem in the E30 series but it's usually caused by the small gas struts in the seat mechanisms.
It can easily be fixed by someone with the right tools.
The gas struts have to be replaced, or re-gassed after the seat is removed from the car.
The tricky bit is compressing the new or repaired gas struts during the re-fit to the seat structure.

Weird squeaking noise from under
You should have your belts checked for proper tension. If they're squeaking when the engine is at a low RPM then they are most likely loose and need to be tightened. However, that squeak may also be an indication that one of the tensioners in the belt's line may be wearing down. If that is the case the tensioner will need to be replaced since the bearing inside is worn down beyond the point where lubrication would be useful.
