I dont understand the comment inappropriate? That still doesn't answer my question. Is this just a refusal to help me understand my vehicle better? If so just tell me your not going to help me, thanksI dont understand the comment inappropriate? That still doesn't answer my question. Is this just a refusal to help me understand my vehicle better? The IAT is not controlled, it simply provides information to the PCM about the temperature of the air entering the engine, this is required to inject the correct amount of fuel, air density is affected by air temperature.
Yes I have answered 6,500 questions free of charge (89% correct), u asked this on a free forum, so what is this about paying??, we are just automotive tech's trying to help out on our own time, not employed by Fixya, just trying to give free advice, I didn't want u to void your warranty, I work for ford and it could cost u $1000's if a tech noted u had fooled with the MAF wiring and u were in for a emission related repair, aren't you trying to install a some kind of performance device in the IAT circuit? Good luck, re-post the question someone may answer the inquiry free of charge again, I just won't, don't want u to void your warranty..Yes I have answered 6,500 questions free of charge (89% correct), u asked this on a free forum, so what is this about paying??, we are just automotive tech's trying to help out on our own time, not employed by Fixya, just trying to give free advice, I didn't want u to void your warranty, I work for ford and it could cost u $1000's if a tech noted u had fooled with the MAF wiring and u were in for a emission related repair, aren't you trying to install a some kind of performance device in the IAT circuit? Trying to "soup-up" your tiny little 4-banger by by-passing the IAT? My recommendations are DON'T DO IT! You are opening a can of worms that you may not be able to afford in the not-so-distant future.
However, who am I to tell you how to waste your money?
The IAT signal input to the PCM is Pin #1 VIOLET/GREY at the MAF/IAT sensor connector.
I am tempted to think that you are considering relocating the IAT. Not sure for a 2008 model but if you have brown and white/pink, then they would be pins 1 & 6 for the IAT. To confirm, pin2 would be IGN B+12, pin3 is ground, 4 & 5 would be the MAF.
Hope you can wing it from this. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
It all depends on which engine your Accord is equipped with. This is really nice-to-know information when you are asking somebody for help with your engine control circuits.
For the 2.4L engine: At the MAF/IAT sensor connector, Pin #4, GREEN/BLACK is the "sensor ground" and Pin #5, RED/YELLOW is the "sensor input" for the IAT.
For the 3.5L engine: At the MAF/IAT sensor connector, Pin #1 GREEN/YELLOW is the "sensor ground" and Pin #2 RED/YELLOW is the "sensor input" for the IAT.
dave, you need to talk to the chip suppliers, cos if anyone gives you the wrong answer, your f....d.(how many chip suppliers are there??)
we have "superchips" in the U.K.
As long as you are talking about the new body style ( 3V 5.4 L )
The module is the MAFS and the IAT sensors
The IAT section is : PCM to IAT is Gray wire The return to the electronic engine controls from the IAt is Gray w/ REd stripe wire
The MAFS PCM to MAFS ( MAF ) is Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire The MAF return on the PCM is Tan w/ Light Blue stripe wire The ground ( same as the Charge motion control valve ) is Black w/ White stripe wire.
A dirty Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) will cause and lean condition and also and dirty IAT will give you a lean condition. If you are using a oil charged air filter like K&N, droplet of oil will make there way to the MAF sensore and IAT causing them to give the wrong readings. You can buy a can of MAF sensor cleaner and clean both sensors. Make sure it's a MAF cleaner and follow the instructions. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, there are other reasons but this is the most common.
I'm not cutting the wiring just wanting to know what controls the iat

Sorry I was not aware a K&N would void the warranty.
