Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Power Seat Problem

The first power seat button on the passenger side doesn't adjust the seat tilt forward; it does tilt the seat backward. Both other switches (Middle and Back Power Seat Buttons) work. How much would it cost to fix or could I fix it or get a replacement part at a auto salvage or auto parts store?

Thanks for your help.... I'll tear into it & go to a salvage yard for a switch.

My drivers seat will not tilt down at the front, the switch works as it clunks when i push on the front end to tilt the front down. I am short legged and have been suffering syatica because of the seat pressure under the upper rear leg muscle for accelerator side, is there in the workings a manual adjustment that allows me to change the range on the mechanical aspect of the seat adjustment mechanism underneath?

Replacement parts and labor could run $200 + from the dealer.. Yes, a replacement switch can be obtained from a salvage yard, BUT NOT from an auto parts store. It is not difficult to remove old switch and replace

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited passenger power seat will not move forward or back but does recline and raise up and down. Is the switch bad or the motor?

There are several motors under the seat. BE CAREFUL not to pinch fingers, Do this feel one motor as you move the switch up and down until you locate the working motor then hold the switch in the forward or reverse position as you tap the other motor with a small hammer and if it goes replace the motor if not suspect the switch. I hope this helps. Take care.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The passenger seat won’t slide forward and backwards properly. The right side moves but the left does not and the seat tries to rotate any tips?

If they are power seats, there is a small cable the drives the track from the motor under the seat. It is possible that the cable has come off on one side. But it is possible the seat track is broken and will require replacement.

I have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee and the power seats will go up/down and tilt forward/backward but the seat is all the way and will not move forward. What can i do?

Hi Christy,

The first thing I would do is to look under the seat with a flashlight and see if there are any dammaged wires. This is the most common cause of seat failures. Things get stuffed under the seats, then the wiring gets dammaged when the seats are moved back and forth.

Other than that, all I know to tell you is that you must diagnose the circit that runs the motor that moves the seat forward and back. It could be the switch, the wiring, or the motor itself.

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. My drivers side front power seat does Not stay adjusted. Every time I turn the ignition on the seat moves backward and the back lays down.

The limited edition brings memory setting for mirrors and seats, it recognizes which key are you putting in the ignition and puts the saved setting accordingly to that driver's key. That is the reason your seat keeps moving. You need to reprogram the seat position for that key. Good luck
