The truck runs fine on the road, moderate speed, flat ground. Apply the throttle to pass, or go up hill and it bogs, lags, or looses power till I come off the throttle, then it pick back up as I aplly the throttle again. Whats up with that?
2strokeJim, The fuel filter was changed about 6 monthns ago. I thought about the cat, when I had the muffler replaced, I had asked if they could check it. The response I got was "it's still there" so I can say it safe to say that they did not look at it, I won't be going there again.2strokeJim, The fuel filter was changed about 6 monthns ago. try some dry gas, but check fuel pressure and if o.k. I wouls pull your o2 sensors out , 1 on each side and tape them up so they won't rattle around, but that causes an exhaust leak, which lets your engine breath better and then drive and see if it makes a difference, if it does, then I would say your cats are restricted, if no difference then lean towards fuel problem, filter or pump. you will get a service enj light prob. from having o2 sensors out but after you reinstall them you can clear the codes.try some dry gas, but check fuel pressure and if o.k. CarGurusOct 17, 2013 - I lose power on hills change the fuel pump and checked timing changed catalytic ... The TPS will make the ECU "go nuts" as it says...I'm here. ... has no power going up hill with small boat on, on flat ground runs good 1 answer.
I have seen many pass though my shop, these are some what known for this ! There's a 95% chance it is your TPS, throttle positions sensor, now the other 5% has also been there Crankshaft Sensor and IAC, are you doing you doing the work yourself ? If you are, it would help if you get a repair manual for your car. Because then you can follow the test for each of these, you would also need a multi meter to test with. On a scale of 1~5 with 5 being the hardest, I would say it's a 2.What you need the repair book for is the voltage to test for on each of these sensors.
what engine? in that 95 accord.
lost engine power.
hot or cold engine.
even on flat ground. at any speed?
does it have full power up hills, wide open throttle?
ever give it a 60,000 mile tune up this decade?
next time it happens try spraying water in mist form around the throttle body if it bogs, replace the throttle body gasket. if it doesn't bog you may have a bad wire wait until dark start the vehicle have someone feed the fuel very slowly and watch for arching from a wire it will be easy to see when it is dark, replace that wire.
Also check to see if Cat. convertor is plugged
